Customs Compliance Specialist

General Description:

The position is responsible for governing compliance and customs-related activities within the bonded warehouse. Ensures full adherence to customs regulations, bonded warehouse requirements, and internal control standards, providing professional advisory support to operations and stakeholders on customs and regulatory matters.

Responsibilities:

- Operations Customs compliance control

◦ Develop, implement, and maintain compliance control programs and protocols to ensure full bonded warehouse compliance.

◦ Plan and conduct compliance self-audits; identify gaps, risks, and improvement opportunities, and drive corrective actions.

- Regulatory Intelligence

◦ Review, interpret, and monitor changes in customs laws and regulations; propose necessary updates to SOPs and management controls.

◦ Provide professional consultancy and advisory services to stakeholders on customs and bonded warehouse matters.

- Daily customs related operations management

◦ Declaration Management: Oversee and execute electronic customs declarations (VNACCS/VCIS) for various import/export types.

◦ Manage and monitor customs brokers’ performance to ensure service quality, accuracy, and regulatory compliance.

◦ Coordinate with internal teams, customers, brokers, and authorities to facilitate compliance audits and inspections.

◦ Validate and submit customs-related reports for internal management, customers, and authorities as required.

◦ Establish and maintain effective working relationships with onsite Customs Authorities.

Skills & Competencies:

• Strong interpersonal, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

• Problem-solving capabilities.

• Proficient in English (spoken and written).

• Proficient in Microsoft Office tools, especially PowerPoint and Excel.

Qualifications & Experience:

• University or College degree; major in Customs, Law, Logistics, or related fields is preferred.

• At least 5Y experience in import/export procedures and customs operations.

• Good knowledge of warehouse operations, preferably bonded warehouse environments.

• Experience working with SAP and WMS systems.

• Strong sense of ownership with a proactive, can-do attitude.

• Possess customs brokerage certificate
