Manufacturing Manager

YOUR ROLE

As a Manufacturing Manager, you will lead large-scale, labor-intensive manufacturing operations to achieve high performance in safety, quality, delivery, cost, and people development. You will oversee multi-shift production operations, ensure operational stability, and drive continuous improvement in alignment with customer requirements and business objectives.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead end-to-end manufacturing operations including cutting, crimping, sub-assembly, final assembly, and inspection processes

• Manage large workforce across multiple shifts, including operators, line leaders, and supervisors

• Ensure achievement of production targets (daily, weekly, monthly) with effective manpower deployment

• Drive operational discipline, standardization, and adherence to work practices

• Optimize manpower utilization, attendance, and workforce flexibility (multi-skilling, skill matrix)

• Drive productivity improvement (labor efficiency, output per hour, cycle time)

• Control direct labor cost, overtime, absenteeism, and attrition

• Lead line balancing, takt time improvement, and capacity optimization

• Ensure compliance with quality standards (e.g. IATF/ISO) and customer requirements

• Drive defect reduction, customer complaint prevention, and structured problem-solving initiatives

• Promote strong shopfloor safety culture and zero-incident mindset

• Manage manufacturing cost including labor, scrap, and consumables

• Lead cost reduction and continuous improvement initiatives (Lean, Kaizen, 5S, Poka-Yoke)

• Monitor KPIs and drive performance through structured review and escalation processes

• Develop and coach supervisors and team leaders to improve capability and performance

• Manage industrial relations issues in a labor-intensive environment

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Engineering, PC&L, Quality, Maintenance, HR) to ensure smooth operations

Environment, Health & Safety (EHS)

• Comply with Versigent EHS policies and support site EHS objectives and targets

• Ensure compliance with all safety rules, procedures, and legal requirements

• Maintain a safe, clean, and environmentally responsible working environment

• Identify, report, and follow up on unsafe conditions, unsafe acts, and hazards

• Support risk assessments, incident investigations, and corrective actions

• Promote safety awareness, safe behaviour, and continuous EHS improvement

• Extensive experience in manufacturing operations, preferably in automotive or labor-intensive environment

• Proven ability to manage large teams and multi-shift operations

• Strong knowledge of production processes, productivity improvement, and cost control

• Experience handling industrial relations in high manpower environments

• Strong leadership presence with hands-on shopfloor engagement

• Ability to work in fast-paced, high-pressure manufacturing environment

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Manufacturing, Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial or equivalent)

• Minimum 10 years of experience in manufacturing operations

• At least 5 years in managerial role

• Experience in automotive or similar industry is highly preferred

• MBA or equivalent qualification is an advantage

• English communication is a must
