About the Role
Daikin Vietnam is seeking an experienced Legal Manager to lead the Legal and Compliance function and serve as a trusted business partner to the Management Team. This position is responsible for providing practical, business-oriented legal advice and compliance support across the Company's manufacturing, commercial and corporate operations, while ensuring compliance with applicable laws, regulations and Daikin Group policies.
Key Responsibilities
Legal Advisory and Commercial Contract Management
Serve as a strategic legal advisor and trusted business partner to the Management Team.
Develop and implement legal strategies aligned with business objectives.
Lead the drafting, review and negotiation of complex commercial and operational agreements.
Support manufacturing and business functions in drafting, reviewing and negotiating contracts and commercial transactions relating to the operations of the Company and its subsidiaries.
Develop, maintain and periodically review standard contract templates, legal guidelines and related documentation through the Company's document management system.
Oversee disputes, claims, litigation and arbitration matters, including the management of external counsel.
Monitor legal and regulatory developments and proactively advise the business on potential impacts and compliance requirements.
Compliance, Corporate Ethics and Investigations
Develop and maintain compliance frameworks aligned with Daikin Group policies and applicable local laws.
Review and centrally manage internal policies and standard operating procedures across the Company.
Implement corporate ethics training programs in Vietnam and develop additional compliance training initiatives based on business needs.
Oversee investigations, including whistleblowing cases and labour disciplinary matters.
Work closely with regional compliance teams and headquarters internal audit teams to promote compliance awareness and strengthen internal controls.
Oversee personal data protection policies and controls in compliance with Vietnam's data protection regulations and Daikin Group's global privacy framework, including responsibility for DPIA and DTIA assessments and related filings.
Corporate Governance and Regulatory Affairs
Manage and coordinate statutory filings and licensing matters, including applications for issuance and amendment of Investment Registration Certificates (IRC), Enterprise Registration Certificates (ERC), Business Licenses, Chemical Licenses and other regulatory approvals for the head office, factories, branches and subsidiaries.
Coordinate the preparation of meeting materials, agendas and minutes for General Shareholders' Meetings and Board of Members meetings of Daikin Vietnam and its subsidiaries.
Maintain statutory records and corporate filings in accordance with applicable legal and regulatory requirements.
Prepare legal and compliance materials to support government inspections, audits and regulatory investigations.
Legal Leadership and Stakeholder Management
Lead, develop and mentor the Legal & Compliance team.
Drive operational excellence through process improvement and technology adoption.
Manage external counsel effectively to ensure high-quality and cost-efficient legal support.
Build and maintain effective relationships with management, regional and global teams, regulators and key stakeholders.
Bachelor's Degree in Law (commercial or business)
Qualified Vietnamese lawyer preferred
Minimum 8 years of relevant legal experience
Experience in a multinational corporation (MNC) and/or a reputable law firm is preferred
Business-level English communication skills
Excellent leadership skills
Nice-to-have
Experience in land and real estate matters/ m anufacturing industry
Exposure to regulated chemical business activities and controlled chemical regulations.
Familiarity with international data privacy standards and legal technology platforms such as OneTrust and Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) systems, JSOX.
Experience in antitrust and competition law, marketing and advertising regulations, product compliance, consumer protection, and customer claims handling.
Experience in M&A transactions.
