Internal Accountant (Immediate Start Preferred)

Position Summary

The Internal Accountant plays a key role in supporting the accounting and finance operations of RBA Group's entities in Vietnam. This position is responsible for payment processing, bookkeeping, tax compliance support, and month-end closing activities to ensure accurate, timely, and compliant financial operations.

Working closely with the Senior General Accountant, the successful candidate is expected to take ownership of assigned responsibilities, proactively manage day-to-day accounting matters, and contribute to the smooth operation of a multi-entity business environment.

Key Responsibilities

1. Payment Processing & Cash Management (40%)

• Prepare and process domestic and international payments accurately and on time.

• Review supporting documents and ensure compliance with internal policies and statutory requirements.

• Monitor bank balances and support daily cash flow management.

• Prepare weekly payment schedules and assist in preparing cash flow reports.

• Follow up on outstanding invoices, payment confirmations, and missing supporting documents.

• Support urgent payment requests and month-end payment activities to meet operational deadlines.

2. Bookkeeping & Month-End Closing (30%)

• Record accounting transactions accurately and in a timely manner.

• Maintain accounting records and supporting documentation.

• Perform account reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.

• Support Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) processes, including reconciliation and follow-up of outstanding balances.

• Assist with monthly closing activities and preparation of management reports.

• Ensure accounting schedules are updated and completed within required timelines.

3. Tax Compliance Support (20%)

• Support the preparation and review of quarterly VAT declarations and Foreign Contractor Tax (FCT) calculations.

• Assist in reviewing prior tax filings and implementing adjustments when required.

• Prepare supporting schedules and documentation for tax compliance purposes.

• Assist in responding to requests from tax authorities and external advisors.

4. Other Finance & Accounting Support (10%)

• Participate in process improvement initiatives and implementation of accounting tools.

• Support ad-hoc projects related to accounting, finance, and compliance.

• Collaborate with team members to ensure deadlines are achieved.

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Auditing, or a related discipline.

Experience

• Minimum 3 years of accounting experience.

• Hands-on experience in payment processing, bookkeeping, AP/AR, and month-end closing activities.

• Experience supporting VAT filings and statutory compliance matters.

• Experience working in a multi-entity environment is highly preferred.

• Exposure to international payments and foreign currency transactions is an advantage.

Technical Skills

• Good understanding of Vietnamese Accounting Standards (VAS), VAT regulations, and general tax compliance requirements.

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting software such as Fast, Xero, or equivalent systems.

Language

• Intermediate English proficiency.
