Construction Manager

About the Role

MVL is expanding its property portfolio across multiple locations in Vietnam.

The Project Manager – Construction leads the team of Project Supervisors responsible for on-site execution across all active projects, whether new builds, renovations, or fit-outs.

This role owns delivery end-to-end: coordinating supervisors and contractors across sites, and ensuring every project meets its schedule, quality standard, safety requirements, and budget.

Key Responsibilities

1. Team Leadership & Supervision

• Manage and develop the team of Project Supervisors across MVL's multi-location project sites in Vietnam.

• Assign supervisors to projects, set clear expectations, and hold them accountable for site-level performance.

• Review supervisor reports and conduct regular site visits to verify progress and resolve escalations.

• Build team capability through coaching, training, and performance feedback.

2. Project & Contractor Management

• Oversee construction activity across new-build, renovation, and fit-out projects from planning through handover.

• Manage general contractors and subcontractors; review bids, scopes of work, and contracts.

• Coordinate with architects, designers, engineers, and internal stakeholders to keep project plans aligned and actionable.

• Resolve site-level conflicts between contractors, supervisors, and other stakeholders.

3. Schedule, Quality, Safety & Cost Control

• Own project timelines: build master schedules, track milestones, and drive corrective action when projects slip.

• Set and enforce quality standards; oversee inspections and sign-off before handover.

• Enforce site safety standards and legal compliance; ensure incidents are reported, investigated, and prevented from recurring.

• Manage project budgets, track actual spend against forecast, review contractor payment claims, and control cost overruns.

• Identify risks early (schedule, cost, safety, quality) and escalate with mitigation plans.

4. Reporting & Cross-Functional Coordination

• Provide regular project status reports to leadership, covering timeline, budget, quality, and safety performance.

• Coordinate with Operations, Finance, Legal, and other internal stakeholders to align construction activity with broader business needs.

1. Experience

• 5+ years of experience in construction project management, including experience managing multiple concurrent projects or sites.

• Prior experience managing or supervising a team (direct experience managing construction Project Supervisors preferred).

• Track record delivering new-build, renovation, and/or fit-out projects, ideally in hospitality, real estate, or property development.

• Experience managing contractors, including bidding, contracts, and payment claims.

2. Skills & Knowledge

• Strong knowledge of construction methods, standards, and local building codes/regulations in Vietnam.

• Solid understanding of construction safety standards and site safety management.

• Skilled in project scheduling and budget/cost control (e.g., MS Project, Excel, or similar tools).

• Strong leadership, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.

• Comfortable working across multiple sites and locations, with willingness to travel regularly.

3. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or related field.

• Vietnamese language proficiency required; working proficiency in English preferred.
