Design & Project Delivery

• Lead and develop assigned interior design packages from Concept through Design Development, Construction Documentation and Construction Follow-up.

• Take ownership of design quality, deliverables, deadlines, and coordination for assigned projects/packages.

• Develop creative and functional design solutions based on client briefs, project objectives, brand identity, context and operational requirements.

• Develop space planning, layouts, furniture arrangements, material palettes, color schemes, FF&E and interior details.

• Prepare design concepts, mood boards, material presentations, design narratives and high-quality 2D/3D presentations.

• Produce and coordinate technical and detailed drawings using AutoCAD, SketchUp and other relevant software.

• Ensure design proposals are aesthetically strong, functional, practical, buildable and appropriate to the project budget and program.

• Provide site support, review construction progress and assist in resolving design, material and technical issues while protecting the approved design intent.

Client & Consultant Coordination

• Meet with clients to understand their requirements, preferences, operational needs and project objectives.

• Present and communicate design concepts and proposals clearly and confidently to clients and stakeholders, including in English.

• Respond professionally to client feedback and proactively communicate design decisions, issues and solutions.

• Coordinate with architects, MEP, structural, lighting, landscape, kitchen, signage, FF&E and other specialist consultants.

• Coordinate with contractors, suppliers and external parties when required to ensure smooth project delivery.

• Visit sites, record existing conditions and provide clear reports and recommendations to the Design Manager / Project Leader.

Technical & Quality Control

• Develop and review interior details, materials, finishes, FF&E and construction documentation.

• Apply good knowledge of interior construction, materials, joinery, furniture fabrication and local construction practices.

• Ensure drawings, 3D models, presentations and other deliverables are accurate, coordinated and consistent with the approved design.

• Review work produced by 2D drafters and junior/intermediate designers and provide constructive design and technical feedback.

• Identify potential design and construction issues proactively and propose practical solutions.

• Maintain organized project files and follow company documentation, reporting, and quality-control procedures.

Team & Professional Responsibilities

• Provide design direction and technical support to junior and intermediate designers.

• Mentor junior team members and contribute to the development of the design team.

• Manage priorities and deliver work efficiently under tight deadlines and with minimum supervision.

• Collaborate effectively with Design Directors, Design Managers, Project Leaders and multidisciplinary teams.

• Demonstrate awareness of project scope, program, and the impact of design decisions on project delivery.

• Represent the company professionally when dealing with clients, consultants, contractors and suppliers.

• Perform other tasks as reasonably assigned by the Line Manager.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

Education & Experience

• University degree in Architecture, Interior Design or related field.

• Minimum 5 years of professional experience in interior design.

• Experience in hospitality, F&B, commercial, retail or high-end interior design is preferred.

• Experience working with international clients, consultants, or design practices is an advantage.

Design & Technical Skills

• Strong conceptual, creative, aesthetic and spatial-planning skills.

• Strong understanding of materials, finishes, FF&E, interior detailing and construction methods.

• Good understanding of multidisciplinary design coordination.

• Good visual communication skills.

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to design quality.

Software

Proficiency in the following, in order of importance:

SketchUp, Enscape, AutoCAD, InDesign, Photoshop and Microsoft Office.

• Illustrator and other design software are an advantage.

• Experience using AI tools for design research, concept development, visualization, or workflow optimization is a plus.

Communication & Personal Attributes

• Good command of English – speaking, listening, reading and writing.

• Confident in presenting and explaining design proposals to clients and consultants.

• Strong written communication skills for project descriptions, reports and professional emails.

• Proactive, responsible and solution-oriented with a can-do attitude.

• Able to work independently and as part of a team under pressure and tight deadlines.

• Strong critical-thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to anticipate issues and propose solutions.
