Purchasing Specialist (Japanese Speaking)

• Communicate and develop new products by working with the Research and Development Team in Japan.

• Research new suppliers of general merchandise not only in Vietnam but also other ASEAN countries.

• Research new manufacturers of general household products, with a current focus on home-appliance-type goods.

• Negotiate prices, lead-time, quality issues and other related issues.

• Visit manufacturer(s) and supplier(s), discuss issues, and judge whether a factory is a good or bad fit as a partner.

• Scout new products at trade shows and exhibitions, identifying interesting products not yet available in Japan and proposing them internally.

• Support the team's mission to grow the ASEAN manufacturer base and reduce reliance on China (currently roughly 80-90% of sourcing), by researching and shortlisting competitive Southeast Asian manufacturers.

• Travel domestically and abroad as needed.

• Do any other task assigned by the Deputy General Director or Dept. Manager.

• Good Japanese communication skills, speaking and writing at the business level.

• Strong skills and a good sense for researching new products and/or merchandise.

• Experience in purchasing, merchandising, sales, or import-export/trading business.

• IT competent (AI tools, office suite, email, internet searching).

• Be able to work to deadlines.

• Ability to work independently, hard-working with a can-do attitude.

• Follow management's instructions.

• Work well with others.
