1. Position Overview

As a Project Engineer (RFQ & Technical Sourcing), you will serve as the core technical anchor managing the end-to-end quotation and technical evaluation phase for international manufacturing projects. You will act as the bridge linking the clients with our manufacturing partners and internal sourcing teams. Your core focus revolves around technical drawing breakdown, manufacturing feasibility assessment, cycle time/material estimation, and structured cost breakdown.

2. Key Responsibilities

· Engineering Drawing Analysis & RFQ Breakdown: Thoroughly review incoming RFQ packages, 2D engineering drawings, 3D CAD models, tolerance standards (GD&T, ISO/ASME), raw materials, and finishing specifications. Proactively formulate technical Requests for Information (RFI) to clarify ambiguities.

· Manufacturing Feasibility & Material Equivalence: Evaluate manufacturing feasibility across various processes (CNC Machining, Sheet Metal Fabrication & Welding, Stamping, Casting, Forging, and Surface Coatings such as Anodizing, Plating, Heat Treatment). Research and propose equivalent material grades (e.g., AISI/ASTM vs. GB/ISO/JIS/DIN/EN).

· Cost Breakdown & Target Estimation: Calculate raw material volume/weight and estimate production cycle times. Establish technical cost breakdowns and baseline target costs to support competitive and accurate project pricing.

· Technical Sourcing & Supplier Coordination (China & VN): Coordinate with China Sourcing Team and manufacturing suppliers to transmit technical expectations and clarify drawing inquiries. Track quotation, compare technical bids and verify compliance with client specifications.

· Cross-Border Project Interface (Canada – VN – China): Collaborate closely with Canadian Project Managers / Account Managers to provide technical insights, DFM (Design for Manufacturability) advice, and lead-time estimations. Prepare clean technical summary files for quotation submission.

· Education: Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Manufacturing / Industrial Engineering, Materials Engineering, or equivalent technical fields.

· Experience: 0 to 3 years of experience in mechanical engineering, cost estimation, process planning (PE/ME), R&D, or technical sourcing. (Fresh graduates with solid technical fundamentals and good English are welcome).

· Technical Competencies: Proficient in reading 2D engineering drawings (GD&T, surface roughness, tolerances); familiar with 3D CAD modeling (SolidWorks, Inventor, AutoCAD); solid knowledge of mechanical manufacturing processes.

· Languages: Good command of English (reading/writing technical documents and communicating with international colleagues; French or Mandarin is an advantage).

· Soft Skills: Detail-oriented, analytical mindset, proactive follow-up, and strong team collaboration.
