Millwork Team Manager (prefer Engineering Service background)

The Millwork Team Manager is responsible for leading the Millwork Division, overseeing team performance, workflow management, client onboarding, quality assurance, and customer success. This role focuses on developing a high-performing team of millwork estimators while supporting drafting and engineering functions.

Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership

• Lead, coach, and develop a team of millwork estimators, drafters, and engineers.

• Conduct performance reviews, coaching sessions, and career development planning.

• Foster a collaborative, accountable, and customer-focused team culture.

Operations & Workflow

• Oversee project schedules, turnaround times, resource allocation, and team capacity.

• Coordinate priorities across multiple clients and internal stakeholders.

• Ensure projects are delivered accurately and on schedule.

• Manage trainee assignments to support learning, resource planning, and workload balancing.

Client Management

• Lead new client onboarding and implementation activities.

• Coordinate sample projects and proof-of-concept work.

• Serve as a key point of contact for client communication and issue resolution.

• Build strong client relationships to support long-term satisfaction and retention.

Training & Quality

• Support and enhance internal millwork estimating training programs.

• Recruit, onboard, and develop new team members.

• Train and transition experienced drafters and engineers into estimating roles.

• Identify skill gaps, implement development plans, and standardize estimating best practices.

• Review project outputs to ensure quality, accuracy, and consistency while driving continuous process improvement.

• 3+ years of experience in the millwork industry.

• Background in millwork estimating, drafting, engineering, project management, or a related technical discipline.

• Strong understanding of architectural millwork, construction drawings, and project documentation.

• Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.

• Proven leadership, organizational, and project management skills.

• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, client-focused environment.

• Experience coaching or mentoring technical teams.

• Experience working with U.S.-based clients or international teams.

• Familiarity with custom millwork manufacturing and shop drawing processes.
