LBM Team Manager (prefer Engineering Service background)

The LBM Team Manager is responsible for leading the Lumber & Building Materials (LBM) estimating team, ensuring high-quality service delivery to U.S.-based clients. This role oversees client onboarding, workflow planning, resource allocation, quality assurance, team development, and customer success.

The ideal candidate combines strong estimating expertise with proven leadership and client management skills to drive operational excellence, team growth, and long-term client satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

• Team Leadership

Lead, coach, and develop a team of LBM estimators.

Allocate workload and resources to ensure productivity and service quality.

Support recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and career development.

Foster a collaborative, accountable, and high-performing team culture.

• Client Management

Manage new client onboarding and ensure a seamless implementation process.

Serve as the primary contact for client communication and relationship management.

Conduct onboarding sessions, project reviews, and regular client meetings.

Monitor customer satisfaction and proactively resolve service issues.

• Operations & Workflow

Oversee daily project assignments, turnaround times, and team capacity.

Optimize resource planning based on client needs and employee capabilities.

Improve operational processes to enhance efficiency and scalability.

• Quality Assurance

Establish and maintain quality control standards for estimating deliverables.

Review project outputs, provide coaching, and implement continuous improvements.

Develop SOPs, best practices, and training initiatives to improve consistency and accuracy.

• Technology & Process Improvement

Support estimating, ERP, and workflow management systems.

Drive process optimization, software adoption, and workflow automation where applicable.

Standardize estimating practices across projects and client environments.

Requirement

• Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.

• 5+ years of experience in lumber and building material estimating, quantity take-offs, or construction estimating.

• Strong knowledge of residential and light commercial construction materials and estimating practices.

• Proven experience leading teams and managing client-facing projects.

• Strong organizational, project management, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred

• Experience with a lumberyard, building material supplier, truss/component manufacturer, or estimating services company.

• Experience supporting U.S.-based clients.

• Familiarity with estimating, takeoff, ERP, and workflow management software.

• Knowledge of U.S. construction practices and terminology.

• Experience in quality management, process improvement, and employee development.
