Ground & Rail Head Vietnam

Job Purpose

• Accountable on strategic business development opportunities for Ground & Rail Transport through managing all operational aspects of land-based transport throughout Vietnam both domestic and cross border trucking as well as business review meeting with the customers.

• Develop Ground Transport as a primary product for CEVA Vietnam and our customers by working closely with the CEVA BD and Cluster team. Create good working relationship with the CEVA contract holders, assisting with transport development and opportunities within the contracts to ensure the achievement of service and profit objectives.

Key Accountabilities

Main areas of focus and accountability of the role – detail in order of importance the main areas of accountability of the role:

• Defines and drives the country Ground & Rail strategy, ensuring alignment with cluster/regional priorities and business objectives across service offerings, growth targets, operations, processes, and technology.

• Supports Ground & Rail business growth by aligning with BD cluster strategy, partnering with KAMs, and driving customer expansion and cross-selling opportunities.

• Accountable for P&L delivery through robust financial governance, performance analysis, forecasting, and execution of actions to meet budget and margin objectives.

• Drives budget and margin performance while ensuring exceptional customer service through proactive engagement and feedback management.

• Maintain customer detail file which includes contract renewal dates, customer contact names, position and all contact details, routes/lanes used

6 Supports global cross-border network development, organisational alignment, and product expansion initiatives.

• Ensures effective planning, resource management, and performance monitoring to achieve operational objectives while maintaining an efficient, accurate, and timely billing process.

• Monitors transport KPIs and drives corrective actions for performance gaps while ensuring full compliance with Health & Safety regulations, company policies, and applicable local laws through continuous training and awareness.

• Owns strategic vendor management, driving supplier performance, compliance, and continuous improvement to support operational excellence and customer success.

• Leads strategic initiatives, leveraging BPE, TCA and continuous improvement to drive operational efficiency, cost optimisation, and long-term Ground & Rail product development.

• Works co-operatively with others to achieve the goals, supports appropriate sharing of transport resources and expertise between CL, AIR & OCEAN groups by promoting the full benefits to the company.

Education & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics / transport / supply chain or related field of study

• Master’s degree in Logistics / transport / supply chain or related field of study

Experience

• Working experience in logistics, transportation, or supply chain management, including leadership responsibilities.

• Experience working with multinational logistics companies and managing local business operations.

• Hands-on and proactive leader with a strong focus on operational excellence, customer satisfaction, and business growth.

• Results-oriented professional with a proven ability to deliver business objectives and drive continuous improvement.

• Strong people management and stakeholder engagement skills, with a track record of building high-performing teams and achieving performance targets.

• Relevant working experience in the logistics field covering warehousing and transportation roles

• Experience of working across multiple geographies.

Specialist Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of Ground & Rail transportation operations and market dynamics.

• Good understanding of the international logistics and supply chain industry.

• Process-oriented mindset with a focus on operational excellence and continuous improvement.

• Sound judgement and decision-making skills, with the ability to balance customer, operational, and business requirements.

• Knowledge of supply chain software / system and how it can and should be applied

Interpersonal & Communication Skills

• Fluent in English reading, writing, listening, and speaking.

• Able to communicate clearly, effectively and cross-functional
