The Estimator / Quoting Engineer is responsible for developing accurate and competitive cost estimates for gas line weldments and precision fabrication projects, primarily serving the semiconductor industry. This role plays a critical part in quotation, sourcing, and planning activities by translating customer requirements and engineering data into reliable cost models.

Description

* Prepare detailed cost estimates based on BOMs for new products, supporting the Pricing team in setting competitive prices.

* Work with the Project Management team to negotiate prices, MOQ, delivery schedules, and payment terms with suppliers.

* Identify cost-saving opportunities and risks, and provide recommendations to improve product profitability.

* Prepare monthly reports on sales, costs, and business performance.

* Analyze standard costs versus actual costs and investigate significant cost variances.

* Review factory cost sheets to validate costs and support purchasing decisions.

* Develop and maintain product buy costs based on customer requirements, BOMs, and technical specifications.

* Monitor cost changes and assess their impact on margins and profitability.

* Collaborate with Merchandising, Production, Technical, and Purchasing teams to resolve cost-related issues during product development and production.

Profile

1 Education & Experience

* Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Business, or a related field.

* 2 - 3 years of experience in cost estimation or manufacturing engineering.

* Experience in semiconductor equipment, precision machining, or contract manufacturing is preferred.

* Technical & Professional Skills

* Strong understanding of CNC machining, sheet metal fabrication, welding, and mechanical assembly.

* Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (complex formulas, pivot tables, data analysis, macros).

* Excellent analytical, numerical, and problem-solving abilities.

* Ability to manage multiple RFQs or projects under tight deadlines.

* Strong English communication and presentation skills, including reporting to senior management.

* Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and cost estimation tools is a plus.

* High attention to detail with strong organizational skills.
