Supervisor. Cost Accounting

1.2. Job Summary

Responsible for Cost accounting functions in TBV and work closely with the Vietnam Leadership team.

Based in the Vietnam office of Terumo BCT, this position reports to the Financial Controller of TBV.

1.3. Essential Duties

• Support to costing activities and variance analysis as assigned.

• Create and review the controls needed for Cost Management as per group policies and other related requirements.

• Assist Department Head in preparing annual budget, and monthly re-forecast.

 Costing:

• Support to annual product standard cost budget as schedule aligned with HQ.

• Perform monthly cost accounting close and reports for VN Plant as per assigned.

• Validate the cost of goods sold as part of the month-end close

• Support for monthly analyses (PPV, Labor and Overhead variances, Standard cost revaluation, Absorption variance, Volume, Utility, Sales and Scraps analyses).

• Update standard costing as needed.

• Work closely with production on labor productivity and efficiency rate as needed.

• Validate and monitor “Obsolescence inventory” status.

• Support to monthly PV forecast as required

 Inventory tracking:

• Co-ordinate with SC/WH in yearly and weekly cycle inventory count and reconcile of inventories discrepancies as planned.

• Take part in the annual cycle count together with SC/WH team and external auditors as per scheduled.

• Work with the materials review board to locate and dispose of obsolete inventory

 Finance:

• Review the operating expenses under approved budget, alert to management abnormal trends as necessary

• Monitor all GL transactions to classify and analysis all of cost expenses to reflect proper profit and loss statement on operation.

• Assist Department head in preparing monthly closing, forecast, budget, and other internal and external reports as needed.

 Employee relations:

• Interpersonal effectiveness: deals properly with differences of opinion, influences in a positive manner, draws ideas from others, and negotiates.

• Teambuilding: engage in a cohesive work group with commitment and enthusiasm in supporting the Company and assure cooperation and rapport among inter departments.

Working Conditions: this position generally works in an office environment but is expected to be highly familiar with all production operations.

Education

• University graduate at least.

Experience

• Costing accounting experience: 2 years and more in manufacturing environment

Skills

• Communication ability in English

• Good analysis skills, and the ability to collaborate with a multi-department team.

• Good interpersonal skills.

• Teamwork can be worked under high pressure.

• Ability to handle stress, proactive thinking, good initiative, and readiness for changes are essential demands at work.

• Knowledge of Vietnamese accounting system or will be learned on training.

• Knowledge/experience of ERP system, SAP system is preferred.
