Solution Architect - Business Enterprise Architect (Platform & AI)

Business Enterprise Architect (BEA) is responsible for designing, planning, and maintaining the organization's entire business architecture — from the Business Capability Map and Business Domain Model to the integration flows between domains. The BEA ensures that design decisions (service boundaries, API contracts, system ownership) accurately reflect business reality and strategy. The role requires deep knowledge of both business and software architecture, and serves as the focal point of coordination between Product, Business, and Engineering.

Key Responsibilities

1. Business Architecture

Build and maintain the Business Capability Map, including core business capabilities, their layering, and the relationships between capabilities.

Design the Domain Model and Bounded Context for each Business Domain, with consistent definitions, documentation, and communication.

Define business ownership, and design and standardize Business Process Flows.

Ensure all system changes are mapped back to a business capability.

Design the Integration Architecture for the entire ecosystem and build the Integration Roadmap.

2. Design Leadership & Governance

Lead Architecture Reviews for High-Level Design, Solution Design, Technical Design Documents, and Architecture Decision Records (ADRs).

Build and maintain design standards applied to Application, Integration, and Data layer architecture.

Identify and track Architecture Debt: classify severity, plan remediation, and ensure debt is resolved according to SLA.

Act as the technical point of contact for Product Managers and Business Stakeholders when discussing feasibility, trade-offs, and timelines for design decisions.

3. Strategic Coordination

Participate in product roadmap planning to ensure new features are designed with the correct boundaries.

Evaluate Make vs. Buy vs. Integrate decisions: when to build in-house, when to purchase SaaS, and when to integrate external solutions.

Build a Business Capability Maturity Model: assess the maturity level of each capability and identify which capabilities need investment to achieve competitive advantage.

Contribute to the Technology Radar: propose technologies for each category (Adopt / Trial / Assess / Hold) based on actual business needs.

Required (Must Have)

Minimum of 7 years of technical experience, including ≥ 3 years in an architecture role (Solution/Enterprise Architect, Principal Engineer) with cross-team or cross-domain scope.

Deep understanding of Domain-Driven Design (DDD): Strategic Design (Bounded Context, Context Map, Ubiquitous Language) and Tactical Design (Entity, Value Object, Aggregate, Domain Event).

Strong command of Integration Patterns: Saga, CQRS, Event Sourcing, Circuit Breaker, API Gateway, Anti-Corruption Layer — and knowing when to apply each one.

Experience in API design.

Hands-on experience with microservices/distributed systems: not just theoretical knowledge, but having actually built and operated highly complex production systems.

Documentation skills: writing ADRs, Technical Design Documents, Business Capability Maps, and Context Maps at a level readable by both engineers and non-technical stakeholders.

Ability to communicate and influence without relying on authority: persuading through logic, clear trade-offs, and real evidence — not through title.

Preferred (Nice to Have)

Experience in E-commerce, Fintech, or high-transaction-volume systems: understanding of Order Management, Payment, Inventory, Logistics, and Energy domains.

Familiarity with architecture evaluation frameworks: TOGAF, C4 Model, Architecture Fitness Functions.

Prior experience working with Platform teams to align Business Architecture with Platform/Infrastructure Architecture.
