Senior Data Platform Engineer | Hanoi

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Data Platform Engineer to join a growing enterprise technology team delivering large-scale Data Platform solutions for leading organizations in Vietnam.

Unlike a traditional Data Engineering role focused on building business data pipelines or analytics products, this position centers on designing, deploying, integrating, and operating enterprise Data Platform solutions across complex IT environments.

You will work on enterprise projects involving Data Warehouse, Data Lakehouse, Database, and Data Platform technologies while collaborating with international technology partners and supporting customers throughout the implementation lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Participate in the implementation of enterprise Data Platform projects, including Data Warehouse, Data Lakehouse, AI Platform, and Database solutions.
• Design, install, configure, and operate data platform software and services, including databases, data ingestion, orchestration, governance, and query engines.
• Deploy, integrate, and optimize enterprise data platforms to ensure high availability, stability, and performance.
• Work with Big Data technologies such as Spark, Kafka, Databricks, and cloud platforms including AWS and Azure, depending on project requirements.
• Support system integration, data migration from legacy environments, and platform optimization.
• Conduct system validation activities, including performance testing, load testing, and High Availability (HA) testing.
• Troubleshoot technical issues and provide ongoing support after deployment.
• Work closely with technology vendors, partners, and customers throughout project delivery.
• Prepare technical documentation related to implementation and deployment activities.
• Participate in solution demonstrations, Proof of Concepts (POCs), and technical presentations when required.
• Continuously research and evaluate new Data Platform and AI technologies.

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related discipline.

Experience

• Minimum 5 years of experience in one or more of the following areas:
  • Data Platform
  • Data Warehouse
  • Data Lake / Data Lakehouse
  • Big Data
  • Business Intelligence
  • Data Analytics
• Hands-on experience working with container platforms such as Kubernetes (K8s), OpenShift (OCP), or similar.
• Comfortable working in Linux environments and using command-line tools.

Technical Knowledge

• Good understanding of enterprise Data Platform architecture and common data processing workflows.
• Experience with Git, GitOps, and CI/CD practices.
• Familiarity with High Availability (HA), performance optimization, and enterprise system integration.

Preferred Experience

Experience with one or more of the following technologies is an advantage:

• SQL
• Spark
• Kafka
• Airflow
• Databricks
• Tableau
• Power BI
• DataStage
• IBM Data solutions (e.g. Banking Data Model, Netezza, Cloud Pak for Data)

Cloud experience (AWS or Azure) is also welcomed.
