Project Accountant - Malaysia Real Estate Developer

We are currently looking for a Executive, Project Accounts to join our team.

Job Summary:

The Project Accountant is responsible for executing and supporting daily accounting and financial operations of the project, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, internal policies, and relevant regulations. This role focuses on maintaining accurate accounting records, supporting budgeting and cash flow control, and coordinating with internal departments as well as external parties such as auditors and government authorities. The position plays a key role in ensuring smooth financial operations and providing reliable accounting support to the project management team.

Responsibilities:

1. Bookkeeping

- Record and maintain all project-related accounting transactions accurately and timely, including invoices, receipts, payments, and journal entries.

- Ensure proper coding of transactions according to project structure, chart of accounts, and internal policies.

- Reconcile project accounts, sub-ledgers, and intercompany transactions on a regular basis.

- Maintain supporting documentation for all financial transactions and ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting standards.

- Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes, including accruals, prepayments, and account reconciliations

2. Management reporting

- Prepare periodic management reports for projects (weekly/monthly/quarterly).

- Ensure management reports comply with internal policies, accounting standards, and company reporting requirements.

- Prepare ad-hoc financial reports and analyses upon request from Management.

3. Tax Compliance and Efficiency

- Ensure all project-related tax filings (VAT, PIT, CIT, withholding taxes, etc.) are prepared and submitted accurately and on time, in compliance with local regulations.

- Review project transactions for tax implications and ensure proper tax treatment.

- Liaise with external tax consultants and authorities to resolve tax queries or audits related to projects.

- Monitor changes in tax regulations and implement necessary updates in project accounting processes.

- Identify opportunities for tax efficiency and optimization within project operations, while ensuring full compliance.

4. Others

- Perform other duties as assigned by the Line Manager or higher-level management.

Yêu cầu công việc

Education background:

- University degree in Accounting, Auditing, Finance or any relevant majors.

Experience & knowledge:

- As least 5 years of experience as a Project Accountant or any similar positions.

- Have experience in Real Estate industry is a plus.

- Deep knowledge and understanding of the Vietnamese Accounting System (VAS) and related legal regulations and laws.

Technical skills:

- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and accounting management systems.

Soft skills:

- Eagerness to learn, interest of challenges, willing to share.

- Responsible, autonomous, punctual and detail-oriented.

Others:

- Good command of English.
