Primary Teaching Assistant

• Work consistently alongside one assigned expatriate teacher to support delivery of the Cambridge Primary Curriculum across all Grade 4–5 classes that teacher is timetabled to teach.
• Provide bilingual clarification of lesson content and instructions to individual students and small groups across the classes covered, helping bridge language gaps during lessons.
• Help prepare and organize teaching materials and resources in advance of lessons across the classes the assigned teacher visits.
• Support classroom management and student behaviour during lessons, helping maintain consistent expectations across the different classes visited.
• Partner with the assigned expatriate teacher to reinforce positive discipline strategies consistently across all classes covered.
• Assist with routine tasks such as collecting homework, organizing student work samples, and helping maintain accurate records across multiple classes.
• Provide additional support for students with special educational needs or English as an Additional Language (EAL) during lessons, under the guidance of the assigned teacher.
• Assist in the assessment process by helping administer tests, record observations, and collect work samples consistently across the classes the assigned teacher covers.
• Communicate effectively with the assigned expatriate teacher and relevant homeroom teachers about student progress, concerns, or incidents observed across the classes covered.
• Assist in maintaining a clean, safe, and organized learning environment in each classroom visited during lessons.
• Participate in staff meetings, team planning sessions, and professional development sessions as required.
• Support the planning and execution of class projects, field trips, and special events involving the classes covered.
• Maintain confidentiality regarding student and family information

Requirements:

Essential

• Excellent Vietnamese and good English language skills, both written and verbal
• Experience working with primary-aged children  in an educational setting
• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree (Education, English Language, or a related field)
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Desired

• Teaching certificate or qualification in Primary Education
• Familiarity with the Cambridge Primary Curriculum
• Experience in an international school setting
• Basic knowledge of an additional language (particularly relevant to the school's community)
• First Aid and CPR certification
• Experience supporting or teaching Mathematics and Science in English is an advantage
