Position: LE (Layout Engineer)

Reporting to position: Senior LE & LE Manager

Objectives of the function

• Ensure smooth day-to-day operation of the drawing office by working independently and preparing layout drawings accurately, on time, and in accordance with Schindler and International Standards.

• Provide support to both the internal and external customers.

Responsibilities

Drawing Preparation

• Carry out duties in line with the Company’s Procedures and Work Instructions.

• Perform elevator calculations used in drawing preparation using Schindler approved tools e.g. guide brackets / separator beams / pit and machine room loadings / compensation loads in pit.

• Select the elevator components from Schindler TK’s, Product Line Component Specification and Engineering Centre pre-approved technical solutions.

• Prepare Contract / Tender drawings of the lift configuration to suit the Clients requirement in accordance with Schindler Elevator System Standards (ESS), Group Product Lines and also International and Local Elevator and Escalator Standards.

• Check and sign own drawings

• Create and update project folder file and project progress

Planning and Supervision

• Ensure that drawings are prepared and issued in line with target dates in the work planning schedule.

• Update latest progress on work planning schedule weekly

Limits of Authority

• Check and Sign own elevator / escalator calculations.

• Check and Sign own Tender and Contract Drawings

Education

• Technical University Degree

• AutoCAD training.

Professional experience

• 2 years as Draftsperson in engineering related industry

Languages

• Communication and written skills in English

• Communication and written skills in Chinese and/or other Asian languages is an advantage

IT

• AutoCAD

• MS-Office, SAP

• Revit knowledge is an advantage
