Import & Export Manager (IMEX Manager)

Overall Role Objective

• In charge of l the import & export processes for implementation of ISO 9001:2015.

• Manage the company’s Importation & Exportation activities to ensure that the uninterrupted delivery of materials and products from Foreign Suppliers to Warehouse (Inbound) are fully executed, thru efficient and cost effective management of resources (manpower, machineries/equipment and materials) in order to achieve customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities & Expected Results

Import

• Take responsibility for Import activities in accordance with Management requests.

• Instruct team member to place order sheets.

• Monitor and Follow-up cargo type, source, specifications, quality, packing to ensure the cargo is ordered in accurate & compliant with demand.

• Cross-check the complete and accurate documentations.

• Control the complete and accurate payment to Suppliers.

• Ensure all activities within department are in line with Management policy and our ISO 9001:2015 system.

• Evaluate and recommend alternative sources of imported materials and products to ensure cost-competitiveness of requirements.

• Audit Third Party contractors’ performances and provide periodic performance evaluation reports.

• Manage cost effective within the department and for the company.

• Ensures the accuracy of periodic importation expenses and other pertinent reports.

• Solve/report to BOD to immediately react with any issues that may cause delays in the shipments.

• Develop alternative Third Party contractors that meet the company’s requirements on service capability and price competitiveness.

• Coordinate with other department to solve problem during and after the goods arrived at destination

• Coordinate with other Manuchar affiliates for supplier claim in case of any quality issue.

• Recommend and develop ideas to improve the Company capabilities, working result and the commodity quality.

• Report to Country Director on monthly basis or as required.

Export

• Take responsibility for Export activities in accordance with Management requests.

• Assign the human resources within the department, to ensure the works are done following the Labor regulations, formality, process, principle and other Government’s laws.

• Solve problem during and after the goods arrived at destination

• Report to Country Director on monthly basis or as required.

Key Performance Indicators (to be developed)

• Ensure 100% customs clearance before arrival of imported Shipments at destination port.

• Ensure 100% cargo/shipment to be covered by Insurance after vessel left at port of loading.

Reporting Lines

• The IMEX Manager reports to the Country Director, BOD, COO.

Required Specific Knowledge (Education, Training, Experiences), Skills & Tools

Education

• University/College graduate preferably Foreign Trade Management

Training

• In-house courses for latest updated customs regulations.

Experience

• Experience at least 05 years in same position or Shipping lines.

• Knowledge and understanding of Import & Export process, laws.

• Knowledge in management.

Skills

• Good English language/communication skills (written and verbal).

• Good communication skills with local government agencies, third party contractors.

• Ability to collect, analyze and interpret statistical data to make sound recommendations to management.

• Must be systematic, cost conscious.

• Ability to work independently or in a team environment in high pressure situations.

• Good computer and email skills (Word, Excel and Email).
