Purpose and Scope

This position is to play the role of Chief Accountant for a joint stock company (including the Company and an independent branch) and be responsible for managing all financial and accounting activities of the Company, ensuring accurate, complete and timely reporting in compliance with applicable laws, Sembcorp Group policies and Company’s management requirements. The successful candidate should be able to manage Company cash flow; budget; tax compliance, assets, liabilities and cost control; advice to the Management to support operations, mitigate risks and achieve business objectives.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee all accounting and financial activities of the Company.

• Manage the accounting, treasury system, ledgers, invoices, payroll, insurance, and accounting processes.

• Prepare and present regular financial reports to plant management. Ensure compliance with legal regulations in the preparation of financial documents and reports.

• Prepare, monitor and control the Company’s annual budget.

• Prepare the accurate and timely tax reports including CIT, VAT, PIT, FCT and other required tax compliance reports per current regulations. Lead the Tax audit and work closely with tax authorities per regulations.

• Manage month-end closing, year-end closing process per Group Accounting policies. Prepare financial reporting packages per group reporting policies.

• Develop and implement work plans for the accounting department.

• Prepare and manage project cashflow, coordinating with banks for regular reporting per loan agreement, raise funds if needed.

• Organize regular and ad-hoc asset and cash inventories.

• Assign tasks to accountants. Supervise and evaluate the performance of accounting staff. Training and updates on accounting regulations and laws.

• Advise management on financial control, cost optimization, and financial resource management.

• Handle credit transactions and collaborate with auditors and relevant authorities.

• Manage bank account of the project companies including authorization, updates per Group policies.

• Actively lead the new system initiatives, participate in design, UAT and migration for go-live per group requirements.

• At least 7+ year experience in the Chief Accountant position

• Graduated from University or higher in Accounting, Finance.

• Holds a valid Chief Accountant Certificate as required under Vietnamese law.

• Having SAP relevant experience is a credit

• Group reporting- IFRS experience

• Related working experience in renewable energy is a plus

• Able to communicate effectively in both English and Vietnamese

• Independent worker with keen attention to details

• Able to work well in a fast-paced environment and able to multi-task well

• Strong analytical, organizational and time management skills

• Excellent written and oral communication, as well as interpersonal skills
