Job Title: Gastroenterology Endoscopist

Department: Gastroenterology - Endoscopy Department Work Location: Isabel Clinic: 29, St. 360, Phum 7, Sangkat Tuol Svay Prey Ti Muoy, Khan Boeng Keng Kang, Phnom Penh. Target Candidate: Cambodian Nationals

I. JOB PURPOSE

To be responsible for the highest level of professional medical care, including consultation, assessment, indication, and direct performance of diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures for patients with gastrointestinal conditions; ensuring medical safety and maintaining the high-quality service standards of the clinic.

II. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Examination and Clinical Indication

• Conduct direct examinations and thoroughly assess patients' health status and medical history prior to endoscopic procedures.
• Clearly advise and explain to patients and their families the procedure, the medical-economic benefits, as well as potential risks/complications.
• Order necessary clinical tests and functional diagnostics to ensure absolute safety before proceeding with the endoscopy.

2. Performance of Endoscopic Procedures

• Proficiently perform gastroscopy and colonoscopy (including both standard and sedation-assisted endoscopy), along with other specialized techniques within the scope of the medical practice license.
• Observe, identify, and provide accurate diagnoses of gastrointestinal diseases and lesions.
• Perform therapeutic endoscopic interventions when indicated, such as biopsy, polypectomy, hemostasis, and removal of foreign bodies from the gastrointestinal tract.
• Accurately record images and diagnostic results into the management software and sign off on endoscopic reports in accordance with regulations.

3. Monitoring, Management, and Follow-up

• Collaborate with the nursing team to closely monitor vital signs and the patient's general condition during and after the procedure.
• Lead the timely and protocol-based management of any complications or emergencies that may arise within the scope of the specialty.
• Interpret results, advise on medical treatment plans or refer to specialized departments, and provide guidance on diet and follow-up schedules.

4. Professional Management and Quality Development

• Strictly adhere to infection control procedures, sterilization of medical instruments, and patient safety regulations mandated by the Ministry of Health.
• Actively participate in internal training activities, continuous medical education (CME), and scientific research at the facility.
• Coordinate closely with related departments (Outpatient Department, Diagnostic Imaging, Laboratory, etc.) to optimize service workflows.

II. CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

• Education: Graduate of General Medicine; priority given to holders of a Specialist Level I or II degree, or a Master’s degree in Gastroenterology / Digestive - Hepatobiliary diseases.
• Professional Certification:
  • Possess a valid medical practice license (CCHN) for medical examination and treatment (authorized to perform gastrointestinal endoscopy techniques).
  • Possess a certificate of intensive training in Gastrointestinal Endoscopy/Interventional Endoscopy issued by central-level hospitals or reputable training institutions.
• Experience: Minimum of 05 years of experience working as a Gastrointestinal Endoscopist at major hospitals or clinics.
• Skills:
  • Precise and skillful endoscope manipulation, minimizing patient discomfort.
  • Strong medical communication skills, empathetic, and capable of explaining professional medical information in an easily understandable manner.
  • Excellent ability to handle emergency situations and effective teamwork with the endoscopy nursing team.
• Specific Requirements for Foreign Personnel (Cambodia):
  • Complete and clear documentation of academic degrees and professional practice certificates in the home country (eligible for consular legalization to obtain a work permit in Vietnam).
  • Basic Vietnamese communication is an advantage (if the candidate does not meet this requirement, the clinic will provide an interpreter for initial support).

IV. COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

• Total Income: 40,000,000 – 60,000,000 VND/month (Gross - Salary is negotiable based on qualifications and years of experience).
• Salary Structure: Fixed base salary + Responsibility/Hazard allowance for the specialty + % Technical commission (Performance-based bonus per endoscopic/interventional procedure performed).
