Vietnamese Physical Education Teacher

1. Teaching & Student Development

• Plan, prepare and deliver engaging Physical Education and Swimming lessons aligned with the school's curriculum and appropriate to the developmental needs of preschool children.
• Create a safe, inclusive and stimulating learning environment that encourages active participation, exploration and lifelong enjoyment of physical activity.
• Develop students' gross motor skills, fundamental swimming techniques, water safety awareness, physical confidence, self-discipline, teamwork and healthy lifestyle habits.
• Differentiate instruction to meet the individual learning needs, abilities and developmental stages of each child.
• Monitor, assess and document students' progress, using assessment outcomes to inform teaching practices and support each child's holistic development.

2. Student Safety, Wellbeing & Safeguarding

• Ensure the highest standards of health, safety, safeguarding and Duty of Care across all Physical Education and Swimming activities.
• Effectively supervise students throughout all learning experiences, particularly during swimming sessions, to maintain a safe and positive learning environment.
• Maintain and monitor sports facilities, swimming pools, equipment and learning resources to ensure they meet safety and operational standards.
• Follow school policies and emergency procedures relating to risk management, child protection and student wellbeing.

3. Professional Collaboration & Student Support

• Assess student learning and development in accordance with the school's assessment framework.
• Work collaboratively with homeroom teachers, specialist teachers and relevant departments to support students' holistic development.
• Build positive partnerships with parents through regular communication regarding students' progress, achievements and wellbeing, including participation in parent conferences.
• Identify, encourage and nurture students with potential in physical education, swimming and sports through age-appropriate learning and enrichment opportunities.

4. Enrichment Programmes & School Events 

• Contribute to the planning, implementation and continuous improvement of the school's Physical Education and Swimming programme.
• Support the organisation of sports days, swimming programmes, enrichment activities, sports clubs and other school events that enhance student learning and engagement.
• Promote a positive school culture by encouraging active lifestyles, teamwork, sportsmanship and lifelong wellbeing.
• Ensure the effective use, maintenance and management of sports facilities, equipment and learning resources.

5. Professional Responsibilities & Continuous Improvement

• Fulfil all teaching and professional responsibilities in accordance with school expectations and professional teaching standards.
• Comply with all school policies and procedures relating to safeguarding, health and safety, professional conduct, confidentiality and student wellbeing.
• Engage in ongoing professional learning to strengthen subject knowledge and enhance teaching practice.
• Contribute actively to curriculum development, quality improvement initiatives and a collaborative professional learning culture.
• Undertake other duties as reasonably assigned by the School Leadership Team in support of the school's educational goals

Essential

• Bachelor's Degree in Physical Education, Sports Science or a related field.
• Minimum of three (3) years' teaching experience in Physical Education and/or Swimming; experience in an international, bilingual or early childhood setting is preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to plan and deliver engaging Physical Education and Swimming programmes aligned with national and international curricula.
• Strong classroom and activity management skills with a commitment to student safety, inclusion and skill development.
• Experience coordinating sports programmes, school events or extracurricular activities is an advantage.
• Basic English communication skills are an advantage. 
• CPR / First Aid certification or willingness to obtain prior to starting the role.
