Technical Support Engineer

Job Summary:
The Technical Support Engineer provides technical support and field service for customers in  tobacco processing industry. The role serves as the technical liaison between customers and the manufacturer, ensuring high machine availability, minimizing downtime, and supporting installation, upgrade, and conversion projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide on-site technical support and troubleshooting to minimize machine downtime and ensure customer satisfaction.
Diagnose and resolve electrical, automation, mechanical, and control system issues.
Coordinate technical requirements for spare parts, machine conversions, new installations, and upgrade projects with customers and the manufacturer.
Support machine installation, commissioning, upgrades, and conversions by coordinating activities between customers and factory service engineers.
Prepare service reports, maintain technical documentation, and provide technical feedback.
Submit monthly activity reports and provide progress updates on installation, upgrade, and conversion projects.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in
Automation Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
Minimum
2 years of experience in technical support, maintenance, commissioning, or engineering within a manufacturing environment.
Good command of spoken and written English.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple assignments.
Willingness to travel frequently, including occasional overseas travel.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with high-speed industrial production or packaging machinery.
Knowledge of
Siemens S7 PLC,
Beckhoff IPC, and
AMKmotion systems is an advantage.
Knowledge of
PROFIBUS, PROFINET, EtherCAT, and
Industrial Ethernet.
Experience in machine installation, commissioning, upgrades, or conversion projects.
Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical drawings.
Skills & Competencies:
Strong analytical thinking and technical problem-solving skills.
Ability to troubleshoot electrical, automation, and electro-mechanical systems independently.
Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
Good English communication skills, with the ability to explain technical issues and solutions clearly.
