​​Role and Responsibilities​ 

Live Payments is seeking an experienced QA Lead to join our growing/multi-national team. The QA Lead will ensure that all software products meet company standards for quality and reliability. 

 

CORE DUTIES: 

• Define quality benchmarks and criteria, and ensure products meet them for quality, functionality, and reliability before delivery. 
• Lead QA process improvement, using AI to identify inefficiencies, accelerate test creation, and improve coverage. 
• Coordinate product testing and analyse recurring bugs and defects (with AI-assisted pattern and defect-escape analysis) to drive solutions. 
• Manage the QA team on hiring, performance, and resource allocation. 
• Mentor QA team members and lead training, including AI literacy and responsible AI use. 

 

AI-FIRST LEADERSHIP 

At Live Payments, AI is the default way we work. As QA Lead you will champion an AI-first approach to quality-making AI the starting point for how the team designs, tests, and improves. 

• Drive an AI-first quality strategy, embedding AI as the default across the four modes: automation, assistance, augmentation, and agentic. 
• Build and lead the agentic AI adoption roadmap: candidate workflows, autonomy boundaries, and escalation protocols. 
• Shape governance that balances agent autonomy with human accountability - review gates, audit trails, and sign-off on AI-generated artefacts. 
• Set guardrails for responsible AI use (data handling, traceability, validation), suited to a regulated payments context. 

Your Skills and Experience

Qualifications and experience 

• Over 8 years in software testing, including 3+ years leading QA teams. 
• Experience in payments or financial services is an advantage. 

 

Key skills 

• Quality strategy: develops and implements effective quality standards and benchmarks and aligns testing strategy with business objectives. 
• Testing expertise: deep knowledge of the full SDLC and test cycles (Regression, Functional, Systems, Stress & Scale, Smoke & Sanity), and the judgement to apply the right approach for each context. 
• Test methodology & automation: strong command of QA best practices and methodologies for designing, implementing, and automating test processes, including CI/CD integration. 
• AI-first mindset: defaults to AI, applies the right mode (automation, assistance, augmentation, agentic), and governs AI-generated outputs responsibly in a regulated environment. 
• Analytical & problem-solving: dentifies root causes of recurring defects, models defect-escape risk and drives durable solutions. 
• Leadership & people management: owns business outcomes, and motivates, develops, and holds teams accountable for their decisions. 
• Stakeholder communication: communicates quality standards clearly and promotes open dialogue and mutual respect across teams.
