Job Summary:

Managing the overall development of a 25.8-hectare Mandarin Oriental Resort project with over 200 keys and 75 individual villas. The Project Director will manage the Construction management team, design team, PMC, Contractors and consultants, working closely with ICK’s Project management team, commercial team and Board of directors to successful project delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

• Managing the Site Construction management team

• Managing the main contractors and PMC consultants.

• Manage the design team.

• Guiding the site team in terms of construction techniques, methodology, quality control and site management.

• Liaising with the operator

• Tender management

• Cost management

• Implementing ICK’s project management system with the contractor, PMC and ICK site team.

• Development of overall project delivery strategy

• Ensuring safety, quality and across the projects.

• Working with ICK’s with the licensing team, coordinating with local authorities.

• Preventing disputes with neighbors and satisfactorily resolving any disputes which may occur.

• Attending key site meetings.

• Developing the level 3 master schedule in conjunction with the PD, DD, FF&E, Operator, OSE procurement consultants and direct suppliers/contractors.

• Monitoring construction progress and directing the contractor when remedial action is necessary.

• Reviewing technical tender submissions

• Contract management.

• Management/monitoring of shop drawing, material approvals, method statements, RFIs responses to ensure responses are timely and do not negatively affect construction progress.

• Implementing project controls.

• Chairing Weekly Site meetings with the project team

• Developing Contractor value engineering initiatives with stakeholders.

• Risk management statements and updates.

• Overseeing the Quality management system to ensure strict implementation.

• Reporting to the BOD

• Reporting to key investors

• Coordinating with the sales team.

Education Required:

• Ideally from an Engineering background (University Degree)

• International experience.

• Resort Construction experience

• Experience of project delivery of a $100million+ project from start to finish.

Required Skills/ Experience:

• At least five (15) years of continuous experience in the construction industry, with exposure to hotels and resorts

• At least 5 years’ experience in Vietnam

• Has been directly involved from the start until completion of the construction of hospitality development projects as senior construction manager or senior project manager.

• Must be proficient in the use of Computer, MS Office, MS Project, and some experience with Autocad software.

• Experience with Aconex, Asite, Conject or any similar Project Management system is preferred.

• Must be familiar with all FIDIC Contract Documents, Mail/Correspondence Types and Project Management Forms.

• Knowledge of key hotel systems (IT system, PMS, Key MEP systems etc.) preferred.

Other Requirements:

This role is Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 6pm but must be able to work for extended hours of the night and even during Saturdays and Sundays as required by the Project. The successful candidate must be willing to relocate to the project site as well as travel to and work from the Company's offices when required by business and operational needs.

Working Location: Based in Mandarin Oriental project site office in Bai Nom, Song Cau, Phu Yen Province and in HCM office

Reporting to: BOD and General Director of the Company and Indochina Kajima Development Ltd.,
