Position Overview

The Packaging Process & Equipment Engineer is responsible for researching, designing, and developing robust manufacturing processes for new products and technology transfers. This role focuses on optimizing equipment performance, ensuring process stability, and leading cross-functional projects to drive yield and productivity. During the initial phase, the Process Engineer will play a critical role in tool move-in, facility readiness, and the establishment of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure a safe and high-quality production launch.

Key Responsibilities

Process Development & Technology Transfer

• Research, design, and develop manufacturing processes, including production flows, work instructions (WI), and assembly equipment for new product introductions (NPI) and technology transfers.

• Establish process characterization, specification validation, and detailed Process Flow Charts to ensure alignment with quality, reliability, and productivity requirements.

• Define equipment configurations and standard operating procedures (SOP) to support new technology startups

Equipment Engineering & Facility Integration

• Provide process engineering expertise for tool selection, facility design, and installation during the startup and ramping phases.

• Act as a technical lead in troubleshooting equipment problems and managing manufacturing excursions to minimize downtime.

• Optimize equipment performance to achieve higher capacity, greater flexibility, and better cost-efficiency.

Process Control & Quality Assurance

• Implement and manage process control systems to monitor signals, detect abnormalities, and ensure the process remains within defined limits.

• Monitor equipment and process indicators to reduce variability and ensure no safety or quality incidents occur.

• Ensure all processes consistently meet performance targets through rigorous data-driven monitoring.

Continuous Improvement & Project Leadership

• Lead cross-functional teams and projects focused on yield enhancement, methodology improvement, and cost reduction.

• Resolve complex engineering issues using innovative solutions and in-depth evaluation of variable factors and data.

• Continuously refine manufacturing designs to drive improvements in quality and operational efficiency.

• Bachelor's

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering and Science, or a related field.

• Minimum 3 years of professional experience in Semiconductor industry.

• Strong knowledge and expertise in packaging and assembly is preferable.

• English communication skill is essential for co-working with global partner.

• Familiarity with statistical data analysis techniques.

• Strong technical knowledge in equipment and process, strong problem-solving skills to resolve complex issues.

• Willing to work on shifts if required to support manufacturing / NPI.

• Ability to travel and/or relocate to another city or country for training.

• Entrepreneurial mindset: willing to take on tasks beyond core responsibilities when needed in a fast-paced startup environment.

• Detail-oriented, organized, and able to work independently as well as in a team.

• Strong teamwork spirit with a positive, collaborative attitude.

• Good communication skills with internal departments, external agencies, suppliers, financial institutions.
