Key Responsibilities:

1. Engineering Calculations and Design:

• Perform engineering calculations using empirical formulae from Classification Regulations as well as first principles.

• Prepare and revise mechanical/ piping diagram packages for Classification Society approval.

• Conduct system calculations in line with industry standards and recognized marine standard criteria.

2. Equipment and System Development:

• Apply basic knowledge of marine engineering and systems to ensure equipment functionality.

• Estimate equipment and piping weights.

• Prepare ship machinery arrangements at the concept, basic, and functional design levels.

• Develop 3D compartment arrangements for space planning and visualization.

3. Collaboration:

• Work effectively within team environments, both within the office and across global teams.

• Share ideas, concerns, and solutions openly with team members.

• Complete assignments on time, adapting to changes in goals or priorities while maintaining confidentiality.

4. Problem-Solving:

• Analyze and reflect on observations and experiences to assist in solving problems.

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent engineering discipline.

• Experience: More than 2 years of experience in a shipbuilding company or relevant industry.

• Technical Expertise:

o Basic knowledge of Classification Society Rules, Industry Regulations, Codes, and other relevant standards.

o Familiarity with the ship design process and other shipbuilding disciplines (stability, structure, outfitting).

o Proficiency in MS Office, AutoCAD (2D Drafting), and 3D Modelling software.

• Skills & Competencies:

o Effectively convey key information in a clear and timely manner.

o Fluent in both written and spoken English.

o Adapt behaviors and approaches appropriately based on different situations.

o Willing to be mentored and coached by a senior engineer.

• Other requirements:

o Legally authorized to work in the job location.

o Willing to travel to the EU and North America for short-term assignments.
