Lab Specialist

Our client is a tier-1 global footwear manufacturing group partnering with world-class athletic and lifestyle brands. We are seeking a meticulous
Lab Specialist to join our expanding Innovation & Material Testing Laboratory.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Testing & Data Validation:
Perform and supervise physical properties, color fastness, fiber content, washing, and flammability testing for footwear components. Validate raw test data inputs to ensure report accuracy.
Brand-Specific Projects:
Direct technical testing programs for key brands, focusing on critical metrics:
Bonding strength, Flexing limits, Heel Attachments structural limits, Slippage coefficients, and
CPSIA compliance.
QMS & Audits:
Maintain laboratory operations in full compliance with
ISO 17025 guidelines. Lead documentation setup for technical method expansion and national accreditation audits (
Vilas audits).
Equipment Calibration:
Monitor and calibrate laboratory physical assets, tools, and chemicals. Organize internal correlation profiles and interlaboratory comparison testing.
Technical Consultation & Support:
Provide diagnostic support to Product Development, Sales, and CS teams. Lead technical investigations to systematically resolve client complaints.
Mentorship:
Train and certify junior laboratory technicians on updated technical protocols and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Education:
Bachelor's Degree in
Chemical Technology, Chemical Engineering, Material Science, or a related technical discipline.
Experience:
Minimum 7+ years of progressive testing experience within an international third-party lab or a major footwear manufacturing lab.
Technical Skills:
Proven competency in footwear physical criteria (Tensile, Tear, Abrasion) and strong hands-on knowledge of
ISO 17025 QMS and
Vilas setups.
Soft Skills & Language:
Professional working proficiency in English; sharp analytical mindset and solid problem-solving ability under tight turnaround times (TAT).
