Industrial Engineer (IE)

The Industrial Engineer is responsible for improving manufacturing efficiency by analyzing workflows, optimizing production processes, establishing standard times, balancing production lines, and implementing continuous improvement initiatives to reduce costs, increase productivity, and enhance product quality.

Key Responsibilities

1. Process Analysis & Optimization

• Study current production processes and propose improvements to increase efficiency and reduce waste.

• Apply Lean Manufacturing tools such as Kaizen, 5S, TPM, and value stream mapping.

• Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions (WI), and process documentation.

2. Time Study & Standard Setting

• Conduct time studies and establish standard time using MTM, REFA, or stopwatch methods.

• Regularly update labor standards when changes occur in processes, materials, or equipment.

3. Production Layout & Line Balancing

• Design and optimize production line layouts, material flow, and workstation arrangements.

• Perform line balancing to meet target takt time and improve resource utilization.

• Support new line setups and product transitions.

4. Continuous Improvement Projects

• Collect and analyze production data to identify improvement opportunities.

• Implement cost reduction, productivity enhancement, and waste elimination projects.

• Monitor results and prepare performance reports (OEE, productivity, cycle time, etc.).

5. Technical Support & Training

• Support production teams in solving process-related issues.

• Conduct training for operators and team leaders on optimized work methods and standard workflows.

• Work with QA/QC/Production/PE teams to improve product quality and process capability.

6. Reporting & Documentation

• Maintain accurate production data, layouts, time study records, and improvement reports.

• Prepare weekly/monthly performance summaries for management.

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related fields.

Experience

• Experience in industrial engineering or manufacturing

Technical Knowledge

• Proficient in Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen.

• Time Study / MTM / Work Measurement.

• Line balancing and process optimization.

• Layout design and material flow analysis.

• Good knowledge of AutoCAD, Excel; Power BI is a plus.
