Chief Accountant

WHY THIS ROLE IS DIFFERENT

This is NOT a traditional "local Vietnamese chief accountant" role. We are looking for someone who:

- Sees accounting not as simple bookkeeping, but from a data and systems perspective.

- Is excited about solving a growing workload through AI and automation rather than by adding headcount.

- Works to global standards — IFRS, consolidated reporting, and English communication.

- Will ultimately design and lead a setup where each subsidiary's accountants (CAs) perform their work on top of an AI system.

Our end picture: a small core accounting team acts as the brain of group accounting, while each subsidiary's CAs carry out their work on top of the AI systems we build. This role is a member who develops and operates those systems together with the core accounting team.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1) Core Accounting & Consolidation

- Prepare, review, and control standalone and CONSOLIDATED financial statements across the holding company and multiple subsidiaries (including factories).

- Accurate and timely closing based on Vietnamese accounting standards and IFRS.

- Vietnamese tax (VAT, CIT, FCT, PIT, etc.), tax inspections, and audit handling.

- Control of receivables/payables, cash, assets, and costs; financial reporting and advisory to the BOD.

2) AI-Based Accounting Automation — Development & Operation (the defining part of this role)

- Together with the core accounting team and the development team, design, build, and improve workflows that process accounting and financial data with AI.

- Absorb the growing data volume through automation pipelines rather than manual work.

- Standardize processes and build guides so that subsidiary CAs can perform their work on top of the AI system.

3) Leadership of Organization & Systems

- Standardize and upgrade group accounting systems, processes, and policies.

- Guide and control the accounting operations of each subsidiary and support the capability growth of subsidiary CAs.

Note: We are looking for a senior at the same level as, or above, our existing senior accounting staff. Junior applicants will not be considered.

MUST-HAVE

- Bachelor's degree or above in Accounting/Finance, with a CA qualification or equivalent expertise.

- GROUP/HOLDING-STRUCTURE accounting experience is REQUIRED — not a single legal entity, but experience operating a holding company plus subsidiaries (especially MANUFACTURING/FACTORY subsidiary costing) and CONSOLIDATION.

- 5+ years of senior-level accounting experience.

- Strong working English across all 4 skills (listening, speaking, reading, writing) — able to run meetings, report, and write documents in a global environment.

- A GLOBAL MINDSET — not confined to local practices; works to international standards and adopts new technology.

- An OPEN MIND TOWARD AI — a strong willingness to learn and personally use new tools and automation.

- Data sensitivity, high integrity and meticulousness, and a proactive attitude.

NICE-TO-HAVE

- ACCA / CPA / CMA / CIMA or similar qualifications.

- Hands-on experience applying IFRS.

- Practical experience with AI tools (ChatGPT/Claude, etc.) or automation/data tools.

- Korean language ability.

- Experience in the microalgae, aquaculture, agriculture, or manufacturing industries.
