BIM Structural Engineer

Job Purpose: The BIM Structural Engineer is responsible for creating, managing, and coordinating 3D BIM structural models throughout the project life cycle. Under a Project Management framework, this role goes beyond drafting; you will actively perform clash detection, collaborate with Architecture and MEP disciplines, and optimize structural solutions to ensure seamless on-site execution, cost efficiency, and timely delivery.

Responsibilities:

1. BIM Structural Modeling & Management:

• Develop, update, and manage 3D BIM structural models (reinforced concrete, steel structures, foundations, beams, slabs, columns, etc.) in alignment with project standards.

• Extract accurate 2D technical drawings, shop drawings, and structural components/details from the BIM model as required.

• Perform Quantity Take-Offs (QTO) directly from the BIM models to support the estimation and cost control teams.

2. Clash Detection & Coordination:

• Utilize specialized BIM tools to run clash detection and identify design conflicts between the structural model and architectural/MEP systems.

• Lead or actively participate in BIM Coordination meetings, working closely with consultants and contractors to resolve technical issues virtually before mobilization.

• Manage project data, revisions, and information workflows within the Common Data Environment (CDE).

3. Reporting & System Optimization:

• Provide regular progress reports on BIM implementation and unresolved technical clashes to the BIM Manager / Project Director.

• Contribute to building and improving internal BIM workflows, guidelines, and the BIM Execution Plan (BEP) for Shin Yeong's projects.

• Perform other tasks assigned by Manager & BOM.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Civil/ Structural Engineering, Architecture, or a related technical field.

• Minimum 3 - 5 years of hands-on experience in a similar role within Project Management companies, Main Contractors, or leading Design Consultants. Experience in high-rise buildings or mixed-use complexes is highly preferred.

• Experience in high-rise, commercial, mixed-use, or residential developments is preferred.

• Advanced proficiency in Autodesk Revit (Structural) and Navisworks Manage.

• Familiarity with AutoCAD, Tekla, or model-checking tools is a strong asset.

• Deep understanding of structural technical drawings, construction methodologies, and local building codes/standards.

• Detail-oriented, responsible, and quality-focused.

• Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple tasks, and meet project deadlines.
