BIM Engineer (Revit/Allplan)

ROLE

• As a BIM Engineer specialising in structural modelling and rebar detailing, responsible for the creation of BIM models and CAD drawings in accordance with European codes and company guidelines.

• Works primarily with Revit, Allplan, and Tekla to deliver accurate structural models across all project phases.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

1. BIM Modelling & Design (70%)

Model Development

• Develop and maintain BIM models for structural projects using Revit, Allplan, and Tekla.

• Create detailed 2D and 3D models of structural components, including rebar, precast

elements, steel structures, and concrete.

• Continuously update and manage BIM models throughout the project lifecycle.

Design Integration & Quality

• Collaborate with engineers, architects, and other stakeholders to integrate structural designs

into overall project models.

• Ensure compliance with relevant codes, standards, and project specifications.

• Understand clash detection results and amend models accordingly.

• Assist in the preparation of construction documents, drawings, and schedules.

• Participate in project coordination meetings and provide input on model-related issues.

• Support the implementation of BIM standards and best practices within the organisation.

2. Quality, Reporting & Development (30%)

Quality & Compliance

• Ensure all BIM deliverables meet GBC quality standards and client specifications before

submission.

• Follow QA/QC procedures and company SOPs; flag non-conformances to the Team Leader

immediately.

• Maintain accurate notes, records, and documentation throughout the project lifecycle.

Reporting & Self-Development

• Record working hours accurately on correct projects and tasks daily.

• Participate in company training sessions and self-educate per guidelines from the Line

Manager.

• 1–3 years of experience in BIM modelling, preferably in the structural discipline.

• Proficiency in Revit, and/or Allplan.

• Strong understanding of structural design principles, construction methods, and relevant building codes (Eurocode preferred).

• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in model creation and documentation.

• Strong problem-solving skills; ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.

• Good English communication skills for professional correspondence.

Essential

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.

• 1–3 years of experience in BIM modelling in a structural discipline.

• Proficiency in Revit, Allplan, and/or Tekla.

• Strong understanding of structural design principles and construction methods.

• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in model creation.

• Good English communication skills.

Desirable

• Prior experience in a civil engineering, structural design, or construction-related company is an advantage.

• Basic knowledge of German language or experience working in a German/European company environment is a plus.
