Structural Design Department Manager

ROLE

Taking charge of overall management of the Engineering Division, including project delivery, team performance, resource allocation, and business development support. Ensures the division meets its technical, financial, and operational objectives.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Division Leadership (30%)

Strategic Management

• Provide strategic leadership and direction for the Engineering Division in alignment with

company objectives.

• Develop and implement divisional plans, budgets, and KPIs in coordination with the General

Director.

• Represent the Engineering Division in company-wide meetings and Board of Directors

presentations.

• Foster a high-performance culture built on accountability, quality, and continuous

improvement.

2. Project Delivery Oversight (30%)

Project Performance

• Oversee the delivery of all engineering projects within the division, ensuring quality, budget,

and timeline compliance.

• Monitor project progress through regular reviews with Project Managers and Design Manager.

• Identify and mitigate risks affecting project delivery and client satisfaction.

• Ensure all projects adhere to applicable engineering codes, quality standards, and company

procedures.

3. Business Development Support (20%)

BD & Client Relations

• Collaborate with the Commercial Manager to identify and pursue new business opportunities.

• Provide technical input and review for proposals, tenders, and client presentations.

• Maintain and strengthen relationships with key clients, partners, and stakeholders.

• Support the company's international business development activities.

4. People & Performance (20%)

Team Management

• Manage and develop a diverse engineering team including Project Managers, Design

Manager, BIM and Structural teams.

• Oversee resource planning and allocation across projects within the division.

• Conduct performance reviews and provide coaching to direct reports.

• Collaborate with HR on recruitment, onboarding, and talent development initiatives.

• Perform other tasks as assigned by Line Manager.

• Bachelor's or Master'

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering, or a related technical field.

• Minimum 8 years of experience in engineering, including significant leadership of large technical teams.

• Proven experience in project management, P&L accountability, and divisional or departmental leadership.

• Strong knowledge of structural and civil engineering codes (Eurocode, TCVN) and BIM processes.

• Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain client relationships at a senior level.

• Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.

• Proficiency in English; German language skills are highly advantageous.

Essential

• Minimum 8 years of engineering experience with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.

• Proven track record in managing large engineering teams and complex project portfolios.

• Strong business acumen with experience in budgeting and P&L management.

• Excellent English communication skills.

Desirable:

• Prior experience in a civil engineering, structural design, or construction-related company is an advantage.

• Basic knowledge of German language or experience working in a German/European company environment is a plus.
