Automation Engineer

The Automation Engineer is responsible for the design, development, implementation, testing, and commissioning of industrial automation and control systems. The role involves working with PLC, SCADA, HMI, DCS, and industrial communication networks to deliver reliable and efficient automation solutions for industrial projects.

Responsibilities:

-       Engineering & Design

·       Develop automation system architectures and control philosophies.

·       Design and configure PLC, HMI, SCADA, and DCS systems.

·       Prepare control system documentation, including:

• Functional Design Specifications (FDS)
• Control Narratives
• Cause & Effect Matrix
• I/O Lists
• Instrument Lists
• Network Architecture Drawings
• Panel Layouts and Wiring Diagrams

·       Develop control logic and application software.

-       Project Execution

·       Participate in project planning, engineering, and execution activities.

·       Coordinate with electrical, instrumentation, process, and mechanical disciplines.

·       Support procurement and technical evaluation of automation equipment.

·       Conduct Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT).

·       Perform system integration, troubleshooting, and commissioning activities.

-       Technical Support

·       Diagnose and resolve control system issues.

·       Provide technical support during startup and operation phases.

·       Conduct system upgrades, migrations, and performance optimization.

·       Support cybersecurity implementation for industrial control systems.

-       Documentation & Quality

·       Ensure compliance with project specifications, industry standards, and company procedures.

·       Prepare engineering reports, test reports, and commissioning documents.

·       Maintain project documentation and version control.

Yêu cầu ứng viên

-       Education

·       Bachelor's Degree in Automation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation & Control, or related field.

-       Experience

·       At least 7 years of experience in industrial automation projects.

·       Experience in system integration and commissioning is preferred.

·       Experience in Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Power, Water Treatment, Manufacturing, or Infrastructure projects is an advantage.

-       Technical Skills

·       Strong knowledge of:

• PLC Programming (Siemens, Schneider Electric, Rockwell, Mitsubishi, Omron, etc.)
• SCADA Systems
• HMI Development
• DCS Platforms
• Industrial Networks (Ethernet/IP, Modbus, Profibus, Profinet, OPC UA)

·       Familiarity with:

• Industrial Cybersecurity Standards
• Functional Safety Systems (IEC 61508 / IEC 61511)
• Instrumentation and Electrical Systems
• Database and Reporting Systems

·       Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, electrical drawings, and control schematics.

-       Soft Skills

·       Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

·       Effective communication and teamwork abilities.

·       Good project coordination and time management skills.

·       Experienced in leading a team.

·       Ability to work independently and under pressure.

·       Willingness to travel for site work and commissioning activities.
