Accountant

Main Purpose of the Role

The Chief Accountant is responsible for the overall finance, accounting, taxation, payroll, labour and other statutory compliance and selected HR administration functions for the Vietnam entity. This is a sole contributor accounting role.

Key Responsibilities

Finance & Accounting

- Responsible for daily accounting operations e.g. invoicing, collection and payment.

- Manage project costing and accounting full set of accounts for monthly, quarterly and year-end closing.

- Prepare monthly management accounts, budgets, forecasts and cash flow reports.

- Ensure accurate and timely reporting to the Singapore Regional Finance team.

- Acts as financial gatekeeper for proper accountability and cost controls.

- Maintain effective internal controls and compliance with Group finance policies.

Statutory & Tax Compliance

- Ensure compliance with the Vietnam Law on Accounting, tax regulations and other applicable statutory requirements.

- Prepare statutory financial statements and tax filings (VAT, CIT, PIT, and other applicable taxes).

- Coordinate with corporate head office and tax consultant for Pillar Two tax compliance.

- Liaise with auditors, tax authorities, banks and government agencies.

- Monitor regulatory changes and advise management on compliance matters.

Human Resources & Administration

- Responsible for admin and human resource duties such as payroll, recruitment, labor contract, labor procedures, business licensing and office administration.

- Ensure the accurate and timely processing of monthly payroll and statutory contribution, including PIT, in compliance with the Vietnam Labour Code and all applicable employment regulations.

- Supervision of 1 direct report handling HR and administrative functions.

Others

- Support Group reporting requirements as coordinated through Singapore.

- Undertake other finance and administrative duties assigned by local management or the Singapore Regional Finance team.

The candidate(s) "must" have

Qualifications/Experience/Competencies

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Auditing.

- Valid Chief Accountant Certificate or equivalent qualification recognised under Vietnamese regulations. Candidates with the relevant qualification, experience and skill sets, including a valid Chief Accountant Certificate, may be considered tor a Chief Accountant position, subject to the Company's assessment and business requirements.

- Minimum 5-7 years' relevant accounting experience. Experience in a foreign-invested enterprise preferred.

- Knowledge in project accounting in Engineering/Construction companies preferred.

- Good knowledge of Vietnamese accounting, tax and labour regulations.

- Professional working proficiency in English (spoken and written)

- Analytical, organisational and communication skills with the ability to work independently.
