Accountant

JOB PURPOSE

Ensure the accuracy and integrity of all payments by verifying that payments are made only to legitimate vendors and in accordance with company policies and procedures.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Review and verify supplier invoices by matching them with purchase orders, goods receiving notes, approved quotations, and supporting documents. Ensure payment terms comply with the relevant contracts or purchase orders.

• Receive payment requests from all departments, verify the accuracy and completeness of supporting documents, prepare payment vouchers, and submit them for the required approvals.

• Prepare payment schedules and ensure all payments are properly authorized before processing payment transactions.

• Process supplier payments in accordance with the payment terms specified in the contracts and company policies.

• Prepare monthly Accounts Payable (AP) Aging Reports and monitor outstanding balances.

• Prepare estimated disbursement reports and cash outflow forecasts as required.

• Prepare monthly VAT input tax reports and ensure compliance with applicable tax regulations.

• Reconcile bank account balances on a monthly basis and investigate any discrepancies.

• Follow up on outstanding payments and ensure timely settlement of all approved liabilities.

• Ensure all financial reports and statutory reporting obligations are completed accurately and submitted on time.

• Maintain an accurate accrual register and support month-end and year-end closing activities.

• Maintain accurate records of payment transactions and supporting documentation for audit and compliance purposes.

• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Finance Manager or Chief Accountant.

• At least 2 years of experience in the same position;

• Good knowledge of Accounting, Finance and Tax law, rules and regulations;

• High sense of responsibility and integrity;

• Good oral and written communication skills in English;

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Accounting software;

• Detail oriented, professional attitude, reliable.
