Upholstery Product Development Specialist

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

- The Upholstery Specialist is responsible for supporting new product development and providing technical expertise in upholstered furniture manufacturing. This role focuses on product construction, material selection, quality standards, and process improvement to ensure new products are aesthetically appealing, manufacturable, cost-effective, and compliant with customer requirements.

JOB DESCRIPTION

- Lead technical development of upholstered furniture products, including sofas, chairs, and other padded furniture.

- Provide expertise in upholstery construction, sewing, cutting, and upholstery assembly processes.

- Evaluate and recommend suitable materials, including fabric, leather, foam, and fire-retardant upholstery materials.

- Support new product development from prototype to mass production.

- Review product designs and specifications to ensure manufacturability, quality, and cost efficiency.

- Collaborate with Design, Engineering, Merchandising, and Production teams to optimize product performance.

- Identify opportunities for product and process improvements.

- Ensure products meet customer requirements, industry standards, and quality expectations.

Yêu cầu công việc

- Minimum 5 years of experience in upholstered furniture manufacturing or product development.

- Strong knowledge of sewing, upholstery, fabric, leather, foam, and sofa construction techniques.

- Familiarity with fire-retardant materials and relevant US/EU standards.

- Strong understanding of furniture quality standards and manufacturing processes.

- Experience in new product development and technical problem-solving.

- Good English communication skills.
