Technical Advisor

• As a Technical Advisor within the Service & Business Acceleration (SBA) team, you will be a part of a small team that assesses business, technical, and commercial viability of new internal ventures. You will act as a senior technical sparring partner for internal venture and service teams across the service venture acceleration lifecycle.

• Your role is to ensure that technical considerations are viable, fit for purpose, delivery-ready, and defensible in decision-gate reviews. Rather than owning delivery, you coach, challenge, and enable teams to make better technical decisions themselves.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Technical Advisory & Coaching

• Act as a trusted technical advisor for internal product and service teams.
• Coach teams on how technical work should be structured, not just what to build.
• Share best practices on engineering setup, architecture thinking, technical quality, and scalability.
• Challenge teams constructively where technical shortcuts, over engineering, or misalignment appear.
• Contribute to the definition and evolution of technical best practices, patterns, and guidelines that are scalable, repeatable, and reusable across multiple product and service teams.

Technology, Product & Business Alignment

• Ensure a strong link between technology choices, product design, and business objectives.
• Help teams understand trade offs between speed, quality, cost, and scalability.
• Support teams in translating business and product goals into realistic technical approaches.

Decision Gate & Readiness Support

• Support teams in preparing for decision gate reviews by assessing technical feasibility, risks, and maturity.
• Identify technical gaps, risks, and dependencies early and make them explicit.
• Help articulate technical decisions in a way that is understandable to nontechnical stakeholders.

Trend Awareness & Thought Leadership

• Stay current with technology trends, architectures, and delivery models relevant to digital products and services.
• Bring external perspective and modern best practices into internal teams.
• Act as a role model for pragmatic, modern technical thinking.

REQUIREMENTS

Experience & Skills

• 8+ years of total professional experience, including significant experience as a Technical Consultant, Solution Architect, Technical Lead, or similar advisory role.
• Strong understanding of modern software and platform architectures.
• Previous exposure to AI-driven products or services, beyond buzzwords, with the ability to challenge feasibility, risks, and delivery readiness.
• Proven ability to advise and influence without direct authority.
• Experience working across technology, product, and business stakeholders.
• Solid understanding of how effective technical teams work: skills, roles, workflows, quality practices, and collaboration patterns.
• Comfortable facilitating workshops, technical discussions, and structured reviews.

• Pragmatic and evidence-driven; able to challenge assumptions respectfully.
• Systems thinker who understands interdependencies between technology, product, business, and operations.

Language & Location

• English: mandatory (working language).
• Vietnamese: highly appreciated.
• Location: Da Nang preferred; other FPT Software locations in Vietnam may be considered.

Preferred Skills & Competencies

• Experience supporting early stage products, MVPs, or internal ventures.
• Background in consulting or advisory environments.
• Exposure to decision gate models, portfolio reviews, or investment committees.
• Experience working in matrix or global organizations.
