• We are seeking a highly skilled Data Model/ETL Engineer to support the design, development,  and optimization of healthcare data pipelines and data models for a critical healthcare software  development initiative. You will play a key role in building and maintaining scalable and highperformance data infrastructure, ensuring data quality, compliance, and accessibility across the platform.
• Experience in healthcare data standards (such as HL7, FHIR, EDI, or claims data) is a plus point, along with solid expertise in ETL development and data modeling best practices.

• Lead the design and validation of database schemas following Entity Framework CodeFirst conventions and best practices.
• Ensure data models align with FHIR resources (in collaboration with the FHIR/HL7 SME).
• Work closely with functional module teams to translate clinical, administrative, and billing workflows into sound database structures.
• Partner with application developers to ensure Entity Framework Code-First entities and DB schemas remain consistent.
• Define and implement ETL strategies for data migration from legacy HIS/LIS/RIS/EMR systems into next gen HIS/EMR.
• Map legacy data to FHIR-aligned models and validate transformation rules.
• Ensure data quality, integrity, and reconciliation during migration.
• Optimize database performance (indexing, partitioning, caching, query tuning) to ensure scalability.
• Provide input on API design and data access patterns for performance and maintainability.
• Establish and enforce data governance, compliance, and security practices.
• Document data models, ETL workflows, and migration strategies.
• Design and implement logical and physical data models to support application and reporting requirements within a healthcare context.
• Develop and maintain ETL pipelines for ingesting, transforming, and loading data from multiple healthcare data sources (EHRs, claims, labs, etc.).
• Ensure data accuracy, completeness, and consistency across systems through validation, cleansing, and auditing procedures.
• Work closely with product managers, software engineers, and data analysts to define data requirements and implement scalable solutions.
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA, PHI, and other regulatory standards in data processing and storage.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Health Informatics, or a related field.
• 6+ years of experience in database architecture and data engineering.
• Proven expertise in Entity Framework Code-First schema design and relational database modelling.
• Strong experience with SQL Server (design, optimization, performance tuning).
• Hands-on expertise in ETL design and migration using SSIS.
• Experience with healthcare data migration.
• Familiarity with FHIR data models and the ability to align relational schemas with FHIR resources will be an added advantage.
• Strong collaboration skills to work with SMEs, module leads, and developers.
• Excellent problem-solving, documentation, and communication skills.
• Experience with cloud-native databases and data pipelines (Azure SQL).
• Knowledge of healthcare terminologies (SNOMED CT, LOINC, ICD-10, CPT) will be an added advantage.
• Prior experience in large-scale HIS/EMR implementations or migrations will be an advantage.
• Experience with API integrations and real-time or batch data processing will be an added advantage.
