Swimming Coach

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the development of the school’s swimming programme, managing and maintaining all aspects of the use of the swimming pool.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Teacher's duties as per Anne Hill Standards

• Assist with the day to day running of the Swimming department by completing swim coaching and admin tasks.

• Lead swim coaching sessions.

• Plan a suitable training programme specific for groups

• Run before-school/ after-school training sessions

• Follow up swimmers who fail to attend training

• Liaise with PE dept over lane ropes & pool maintenance

• Organise team lists for swimming galas and interschool competitions

• Maintain a record of swimmers times

• Print personal best and award certificates

• Inform swimmers of important upcoming events via newsletters

• Be Active member of the school community.

• Supporting teachers in preparing and organizing School events.

• Supervision of After-School activities.

• Being a competent swimmer and be able to teach stroke development work in small groups independently.

• Assisting in equipment preparation for lessons.

• Providing escort and assistance to children as necessary.

• Helping teachers to plan learning activities and complete records; maintain individual records for each student when required.

• Attending staff meetings or training, helping with outings/sport events, school clubs and other school events

• Understanding and applying school policies.

• Maintaining confidentiality inside and outside the workplace.

• Performing other duties given by PE Coordinator / Vice Principal

Qualifications and Experience

• University degree in Physical Education.

• Teacher professional qualification or certification in PE and/Swimming.

• Certification in Life Saving and First Aid.

• Teaching experience in Years 1 - 10;
