Senior Map/Data Scientist

1. Geospatial Data Science & Machine Learning Development

• Design, develop, and optimize Machine Learning/Deep Learning models for digital mapping, navigation, and location-based products.
• Analyze geospatial datasets, including GPS trajectories, Points of Interest (POI), road networks, and traffic data, to improve map quality and user experience.
• Research and develop algorithms related to:
  • Map Matching
  • Route Prediction
  • Estimated Time of Arrival (ETA) Prediction
  • Traffic Forecasting
  • POI Classification & Recommendation
  • Geospatial Clustering

2. Data Analytics & AI Solutions

• Leverage large-scale datasets to identify patterns, generate insights, and support product innovation.
• Define and monitor key metrics to evaluate map data quality and model performance.
• Conduct advanced statistical analysis and predictive modeling to support business and product decision-making.

3. Data Pipeline & Model Deployment

• Collaborate with Data Engineers to build and maintain scalable data pipelines.
• Deploy, monitor, and optimize Machine Learning models in production environments.
• Ensure model accuracy, reliability, scalability, and operational efficiency.

4. Cross-functional Collaboration

• Work closely with Product Managers, Mapping Engineers, Backend Engineers, and AI/ML Engineers to deliver data-driven solutions.
• Stay up to date with emerging technologies and best practices in Geospatial AI, Mapping Technologies, and Location Intelligence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field.

Experience & Technical Skills

• Minimum 3 years of experience as a Data Scientist, Machine Learning Engineer, or a related role.
• Strong proficiency in Python and Machine Learning frameworks/libraries such as Scikit-learn, XGBoost, TensorFlow, or PyTorch.
• Solid experience with SQL and large-scale data processing technologies such as Spark or other Big Data platforms.
• Strong foundation in Statistics, Probability, Machine Learning, and Data Modeling.
• Experience working with geospatial data and location-based services is highly preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with GIS technologies, Geohash, H3, or similar geospatial indexing systems.
• Familiarity with PostGIS, OpenStreetMap (OSM), and routing/navigation engines.
• Experience in Computer Vision applications involving street-level imagery, satellite imagery, or geospatial datasets.
• Experience building AI/ML solutions for transportation, logistics, mobility, mapping, or location-based services.
