Senior General Manager

Business Management

• Manage the overall daily operations of the company, including ocean freight, air freight, trucking, customs clearance, warehousing, and customer service.

• Develop and execute business plans to achieve company targets in revenue, profit, service quality, KPI required by clients, and market development.

• Monitor company performance, including sales results, operational productivity, cost control, and profit margins.

• Identify business opportunities and support the development of new customers, new trade lanes, and new services.

• Maintain strong relationships with key customers, overseas agents, carriers, vendors, and business partners.

Operations Management

• Oversee import and export operations to ensure shipments are handled smoothly, accurately, and on time.

• Ensure that all departments follow SOPs, customer requirements, and internal control procedures.

• Resolve major operational issues, service failures, customer complaints, and urgent shipment problems.

• Review operational workflows and implement improvements to increase efficiency and reduce errors.

• Coordinate with carriers, airlines, trucks providers, warehouses, and customs brokers to ensure competitive pricing and reliable service.

Sales and Customer Development

• Support the sales team in developing new business and maintaining existing accounts.

• Participate in customer meetings, business reviews, RFQs or tenders, and contract negotiations when necessary.

• Work with the pricing team and overseas offices to provide competitive solutions for customers.

• Understand customer needs and develop logistics solutions to improve customer satisfaction and retention.

• Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and customer feedback.

Finance and Profit Control

• Monitor revenue, cost, gross profit, and operating expenses.

• Review major quotations, credit terms, and customer profitability.

• Work with accounting and finance teams to ensure timely billing, cost control, AR collection, and financial reporting.

• Support budget planning, forecasting, and monthly performance review.

• Ensure that company resources are used effectively and profitably.

Compliance and Risk Management

• Ensure all logistics activities comply with local laws, customs regulations, trade compliance rules, company policies, and customer requirements.

• Manage business risks related to cargo claims, credit exposure, service failures, documentation errors, and vendor performance.

• Ensure proper documentation, filing, reporting, and audit readiness.

• Work with management to handle legal, insurance, claim, and compliance matters when required.

Team Leadership

• Lead, coach, and develop department managers and key staff.

• Set clear performance expectations and ensure team members understand their responsibilities.

• Improve communication, teamwork, professionalism, and service mindset across departments.

• Identify training needs and support staff development in operations, customer service, sales, English communication, and leadership skills.

• Build a positive, disciplined, and result-oriented working culture.

• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain

• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, International Trade, or related field.

• Minimum 10–15 years of experience in logistics, freight forwarding, supply chain, or international transportation.

• Minimum 5 years in a senior management role.

• Strong knowledge of ocean freight, air freight, customs clearance, trucking, warehousing, and freight forwarding operations.

• Good understanding of P&L management, budgeting, cost control, and business development.

• Strong leadership, problem-solving, negotiation, and decision-making skills.

• Good English communication skills, especially for working with overseas offices and international or USA customers.

• Ability to manage pressure, urgent issues, and cross-functional teams.

Preferred Skills

• Experience working in an international logistics network or multinational freight forwarding company.

• Strong commercial mindset and customer-oriented attitude.

• Good connection with carriers, airlines, truckers, warehouses, and local logistics vendors.

• Experience handling key accounts, RFQs, tenders, and overseas agent cooperation.

• Ability to improve SOPs, internal controls, and team productivity.

• Sales experience is also a plus.
