The Senior DevOps Engineer is a senior technical contributor accountable for designing, implementing, and governing secure, reliable software delivery platforms across the enterprise. The role brings together the core disciplines of DevOps (Development and Operations) – Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) engineering, container platform operations, security integration, and release governance – to strengthen delivery speed, quality, and resilience, while mentoring junior engineers and driving the organization's platform modernization journey.

 

Accountabilities:

1/ Design, implement, and optimize secure Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines (GitLab) for enterprise applications.

2/ Govern and support application deployment on Red Hat OpenShift and enterprise Linux/Windows platforms

3/ Integrate security controls into the software delivery pipeline, including Static Application Security Testing (SAST), Dynamic Application Security Testing (DAST), Software Composition Analysis (SCA), secret scanning, and image scanning.

4/ Ensure release and change management governance, including promote-to-production workflow, rollback readiness, and post-deployment verification.

5/ Implement observability practices – centralized logging, distributed tracing, and application performance monitoring – to reduce Mean Time to Recovery (MTTR) for containerized workloads.

6/ Provide technical mentoring to junior engineers and drive continuous improvement in automation and platform standards.

7/ Perform other tasks as assigned by the Team Leader/Manager.

Your Skills and Experience

● Qualification:
- University degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Good English reading comprehension and communication skills.

● Experience:
- At least 4–5 years of progressive experience in DevOps/DevSecOps, including a hands-on software development background.

● Technical Skills – core DevOps competency areas:
- Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) & GitOps: Design, build, and maintain automated delivery pipelines (GitLab CI/CD) and GitOps workflows (ArgoCD, Helm) for enterprise applications.
- Container & Platform Operations: Hands-on experience operating and governing containerized workloads on Red Hat OpenShift/Kubernetes, including cluster and workload management.
- Infrastructure as Code & Automation: Proficiency in automation tooling (Ansible, Terraform) and scripting languages (Python, Bash, Shell Script, PowerShell) to standardize infrastructure provisioning and operations.
- Security Integration (DevSecOps): Ability to embed security controls into the software delivery pipeline, including Static Application Security Testing (SAST), Dynamic Application Security Testing (DAST), Software Composition Analysis (SCA), secret scanning, and image scanning.
- Release & Source Control Governance: Strong understanding of Git-based version control, branching strategy, and artifact/dependency repositories (for example, Nexus, Artifactory) to ensure controlled, auditable releases.
- Observability & Reliability: Experience implementing centralized logging, monitoring, and distributed tracing to support release governance and rapid incident response.
- Cloud & Development Foundation: Exposure to public cloud platforms (Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services) and a hands-on coding background in at least one language ecosystem (Java, .NET, or JavaScript) to support technical mentoring and troubleshooting.

● Skills:
- Strong analytical thinking and structured problem-solving under pressure.
- Effective communication and mentoring capability to guide junior engineers.
- Ability to make independent technical decisions and take ownership of platform and pipeline design outcomes.
- Skilled at evaluating risks and trade-offs when architecting delivery and automation solutions.
