We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our growing finance team in a fully remote role.

This position is ideal for a commercially minded accountant who is confident managing month-end and quarter-end processes, understands complex multi-entity accounting, and is comfortable working independently in a remote environment.

Job Description:

* Manage and complete month-end and quarter-end close processes accurately and on time

* Prepare and review journals, accruals, prepayments and other month-end adjustments

* Perform detailed balance sheet reconciliations and investigate variances

* Review Profit & Loss accounts with a strong understanding of OPEX and cost allocation

* Prepare and review consolidated financial reporting across multiple entities

* Manage intercompany transactions, reconciliations and eliminations

* Maintain accurate general ledger records and ensure accounting integrity

* Assist with management reporting, financial analysis and variance commentary

* Review financial information with a strong commercial and financial mindset rather than simply processing transactions

* Support year-end processes, audit requirements and statutory reporting

* Identify accounting issues, control weaknesses and opportunities to improve finance processes

* Assist with improving finance systems, reporting and automation

* Work closely with management and other finance team members across different locations

What We Are Looking For

This is not purely a transactional accounting role.

We are looking for someone who can look at a set of accounts and understand what the numbers are telling us, identify issues, question unusual movements, and contribute to improving the quality of financial information.

The successful candidate will be dependable, commercially minded, comfortable taking ownership of deadlines, and interested in building smarter and more efficient finance processes.

1. Working experience

- Minimum 8 years’ accounting experience

- Strong practical knowledge of Australian accounting practices and requirements

- Advanced experience with Xero – essential

- Experience with NetSuite – highly desirable

- Strong month-end and quarter-end accounting experience

- Strong knowledge of:

+ General ledger accounting

+ Balance sheet reconciliation

+ Accruals and prepayments

+ OPEX

+ Intercompany accounting

+ Consolidated reporting

+ Financial reporting

+ Variance analysis

- Experience working with multiple entities or complex business structures

- Excellent attention to detail and ability to identify unusual transactions or accounting discrepancies

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

- Ability to work independently and manage deadlines without close supervision

- Strong written and verbal English communication skills

2. Working Arrangements

- Fully remote

- Must be available to work primarily within Australian business hours / Australian time zones

- Suitable for candidates based internationally who can reliably work Australian hours

- Stable internet connection and an appropriate home-working environment are required

3. Technology & AI Mindset

- We are looking for someone who is comfortable working with technology and is curious about how AI and automation can improve finance processes.

- You do not need to be an AI specialist, but you should be interested in learning and using modern tools to improve efficiency, reporting, reconciliations, and financial analysis.

- Experience with tools such as AI assistants, workflow automation, advanced Excel, or financial reporting platforms will be highly regarded.
