Seafood Category Merchandiser

1. Category Planning & Development

• Participate in developing and implementing short-term and long-term business plans for the Seafood category.
• Execute approved business activities, including promotions, in-store activations, seasonal campaigns, and new product development.
• Analyze market trends, customer demand, competitors, and category performance to propose suitable business initiatives for seafood products.
• Support the development of product assortment, pricing strategy, and sales plans to optimize category performance.

2. Supplier Management & Development

• Develop and apply supplier evaluation standards, including product quality, freshness, supply capacity, delivery stability, pricing competitiveness, food safety compliance, and business scale.
• Search, develop, and manage strategic suppliers and potential suppliers for seafood products, including fresh seafood, frozen seafood, processed seafood, aquaculture suppliers, and import partners.
• Monitor and evaluate supplier performance, including quality consistency, delivery performance, product availability, pricing, and cooperation effectiveness.
• Propose supplier adjustments, restructuring, or development plans to optimize sales, profit, product quality, and supply stability.

3. Category Operations Management

• Implement and monitor category operation processes, working procedures, forms, and guidelines to ensure they are practical and suitable for store operations.
• Coordinate daily tasks and ensure timely and accurate communication with stores, suppliers, logistics, quality control, and relevant departments.
• Monitor and control key business indicators, including sales, gross profit, inventory, shrinkage, damaged products, freshness level, private label performance, and online sales.
• Work closely with stores to improve product display, freshness control, stock availability, and customer experience in the Seafood section.

4. System Operations & Data Management

• Perform required operations on the company’s management systems such as GMD, EDI, Moinair, and other internal systems, including product registration, price setting, price adjustment, and product information updates.
• Ensure all product, supplier, pricing, and promotional data are accurate, complete, and updated on time.
• Review and resolve system errors, data discrepancies, and operational issues in a timely manner to support smooth category operations.

5. Reporting & External Coordination

• Prepare periodic and ad-hoc reports as required by management.
• Coordinate with relevant teams to provide documents and reports for internal audits, group-level control, and external authorities such as food safety agencies, the Department of Industry and Trade, and inspection teams.
• Work with external partners, suppliers, aquaculture farms, seafood producers, associations, and local or overseas partners related to the Seafood category.
• Perform other tasks as assigned by the direct manager and according to the company’s business needs.

1. Education & Professional Background:

• College degree or above.
• Major in Economics, Business Administration, Food Technology, Seafood Processing, or related fields.
• Good understanding of the Seafood market and modern trade distribution channels, both local and international.

2. Experience:

• At least 3 years of experience in a similar position.
• Experience in local or international retail chains is preferred.

3. Skills

• Strong analytical, evaluation, and systematic decision-making skills.
• Good communication, negotiation, presentation, problem-solving, and conflict-handling skills.
• Ability to build and develop relationships with partners and relevant stakeholders.

4. Other Requirements

• Able to work under high pressure, travel for business, and work overtime when required.
• Honest, proactive, creative, and responsible.
• Good communication skills in English.
