QC Engineer / Software Tester

About the Role

We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced QC Engineer / Software Tester to join our payment gateway team. You will be responsible for ensuring the quality, reliability, and security of our payment processing systems by designing and executing comprehensive test strategies across functional, regression, and integration testing.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and execute test plans, test cases, and test scripts for payment gateway features including transaction flows, payment processing, refunds, and settlement
• Perform manual testing of new features, bug fixes, and releases including exploratory, functional, and user acceptance testing (UAT)
• Perform end-to-end testing of payment APIs, webhooks, and third-party integrations (e.g. card networks, banks, PSPs)
• Build and maintain automated test suites using Selenium or Cypress
• Conduct API testing using Postman and/or REST Assured to validate request/response integrity, error handling, and edge cases
• Execute regression, smoke, sanity, and performance testing across environments (dev, staging, production)
• Create and maintain detailed test documentation including test plans, test cases, checklists, and test summary reports
• Identify, document, and track bugs using issue tracking tools (e.g. Jira); work closely with developers to ensure timely resolution
• Validate data accuracy, transaction reconciliation, and audit logs
• Participate in sprint ceremonies and contribute to test estimation and release readiness sign-off
• Ensure testing covers security and compliance considerations relevant to payment systems (e.g. PCI-DSS awareness)

Experience & Skills

• Minimum 3 years of QC/testing experience in software development projects
• Strong manual testing skills — ability to write detailed test cases from requirements, BRDs, or user stories, and execute them thoroughly without tooling
• Skilled in exploratory testing to uncover edge cases beyond documented requirements
• Hands-on experience with test automation frameworks (Selenium, Cypress, or equivalent)
• Proficiency in API testing using Postman and/or REST Assured
• Solid understanding of HTTP/REST protocols, JSON/XML payloads, and authentication mechanisms (OAuth, API keys, JWT)
• Experience testing payment systems, fintech applications, or transaction-heavy platforms is a strong advantage
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and integrating automated tests into build processes
• Good command of at least one scripting/programming language (JavaScript, Python, Java, etc.)
• Experience with bug tracking and test management tools (Jira, TestRail, or similar)

• Strong analytical mindset with high attention to detail
• Ability to communicate test findings clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Self-driven with the ability to work independently in an agile team environment

Nice to Have

• Experience or knowledge of PCI-DSS compliance and security testing
• Familiarity with load/performance testing tools (JMeter, k6, Locust)
• Understanding of payment flows: authorization, capture, chargeback, 3DS authentication
• Experience working with sandbox/mock environments for payment provider integrations
