How You'll Make an Impact

At Trusting Social, quality is engineered, not inspected in. Our QA engineers are full-stack AI-native engineers who own an entire product or partner-integration track — from test design and automation through defect root-cause, release verification, and go/no-go decisions. You will work closely with backend, frontend, mobile, and data engineers to build deterministic test infrastructure, gate releases on real evidence, and push quality left before a single line of production code ships. You are not a gatekeeper at the end of a pipeline; you are an architect of quality from day one.

The person who thrives here is obsessed with correctness and uncomfortable with "it probably works." You act on early signals without waiting to be directed, experiment quickly, and raise the bar by instinct — not by mandate. You listen carefully before escalating, synthesize signals from logs and data before filing a bug, and hold yourself accountable for the downstream impact of every release decision you make.

What You'll Do

Quality Ownership, End-to-End

• Own quality for a product or partner-integration track from test design and automation through defect investigation, verification, and release sign-off — the call is yours, and you make it without waiting for central approval.
• Set and hold the quality bar: executable specs, failing-test-first discipline, and the judgment to distinguish real-green from false-green.
• Model release and migration risk before go/no-go, gate the release on evidence, and ship tooling that removes QA as a bottleneck for the team.

Test Infrastructure as First-Class Software

• Build and maintain automated test suites — data-driven API, E2E, mobile, and visual/responsive coverage — committed to shared repos with reusable helpers the whole team runs on.
• Design deterministic test infrastructure: service mocks, real-to-mock mode switches, CI gates, and test-data tooling that keep tests fast, reliable, and trustworthy.
• Instrument tests and CI pipelines to surface coverage gaps and quality drift before they reach production.

AI-Native Quality Engineering

• Drive Claude Code and equivalent agents through a disciplined loop — brainstorm, plan, test-first, verify — in isolated worktrees, and own the machine-readable domain docs your teammates and agents depend on.
• Act as an AI Operator for quality workflows: keep agent-driven testing above quality threshold at target cost, catch drift early, and verify AI output with the same rigor you apply to production code.
• Curate and evolve the skills and context that make AI agents more effective in your domain — you build AI-augmented quality systems, not just use them.

Exploratory and Risk-Based Testing

• Design and execute exploratory testing where automation is blind: new surfaces, migration edge cases, and the scenarios only a quality-obsessed human thinks to try.
• Investigate defects through production tooling — Datadog, Temporal, Kafka, SQL — and file findings with reproducible steps, real impact, and a clear root-cause diagnosis engineers can act on immediately.
• Review specs and designs upstream to identify risk early, before automation is even written.

Your Skills and Experience

What We're Looking For

Experience & Background

• 3+ years in QA engineering with hands-on test automation across APIs, Web UI, and Mobile.
• Proficiency in TypeScript/JavaScript (Node) — you write code that is readable, tested, and reviewable.
• Solid SQL and relational database skills for data validation and root-cause investigation.
• Startup or fast-growth tech background is a strong plus; fintech, lending, payments, or eKYC domain experience is a bonus.
• Bachelor's in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
• Mobile automation, visual-regression, or performance testing is a strong plus; so is hands-on experience with CI/CD, contract/mock testing, or observability tooling (Datadog, Temporal, Kafka).
• A track record of mentoring peers or shipping test frameworks that others adopt is an advantage.

• You apply AI actively and critically: you craft clear prompts, evaluate agent output with a tester's eye, and use AI to expand your testing scope and depth — not to shortcut quality judgment.
• You have a bias for action: you don't wait for a perfect test plan before running the first test; you iterate on real evidence, ship better coverage each cycle, and drive results without being directed.
• You connect across domains: you coordinate naturally across backend, frontend, mobile, and external partners, bringing a whole-system perspective that single-track engineers miss.
• You invest in your own growth: you self-direct your learning, keep pace with tooling evolution, and raise your own bar continuously without being asked.
• You consider before escalating: you listen to signals from across the system, synthesize evidence before raising an issue, and communicate findings with the clarity and precision that earns cross-functional trust.
• A sharp eye for both functional and visual detail: you notice when something is out of place, and you name it.
• You dig into the system: you follow logs, data, and API calls to understand why something fails — not just that it fails.
   

Skills & Competencies

• Domain Expert — You can teach QA process and automation craft to others; your test strategies cover edge cases, and your frameworks are documented well enough that teammates adopt them without hand-holding.
• AI Operator — You keep agent-driven and AI-assisted quality workflows above quality threshold at target cost; you catch model drift early and know when to trust AI output and when to override it.
• Platform Guardian — You design CI gates and quality guardrails before features ship, not after; audit-readiness and test coverage transparency are defaults, not afterthoughts.
• Strong English communication skills (spoken and written — professional fluency required).
• High adaptability and comfort operating in fast-paced, ambiguous environments.
