Production Manager

Position Summary:

The Production Manager is responsible for planning, directing, and managing all production operations to ensure the achievement of production targets, quality standards, cost efficiency, safety requirements, and continuous improvement objectives. This role leads production teams, optimizes manufacturing processes, and drives operational excellence while ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

Production Operations Management:

• Lead and oversee daily production activities to achieve production schedules and customer delivery requirements.

• Develop production plans and allocate resources efficiently to maximize productivity and capacity utilization.

• Monitor production performance against KPIs and implement corrective actions when required.

• Ensure optimal utilization of manpower, machines, and materials.

• Coordinate with Planning, Supply Chain, Engineering, Quality, and Warehouse teams to ensure smooth operations.

Team Leadership & People Management

• Lead, coach, and develop Supervisors, Leaders and Operators.

• Build a high-performance culture focused on accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

• Drive employee engagement and retention strategies within the production organization.

Quality Management:

• Ensure all products meet quality specifications and customer requirements.

• Implement root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions for quality issues.

• Support audits and compliance with quality management systems (ISO, customer standards, etc.).

Continuous Improvement:

• Identify opportunities to improve productivity, efficiency, and cost savings.

• Analyze production data and implement process improvements.

• Lead automation and digital transformation projects where appropriate.

Health, Safety & Environmental Compliance

• Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations.

• Promote a strong safety culture and actively reduce workplace incidents.

• Conduct regular safety reviews and ensure implementation of corrective actions.

Stakeholder Management:

• Monitor labor costs, material consumption, machine efficiency, and waste reduction.

• Support customer visits, audits, and operational reviews.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve organizational goals.

• Degree in Mechanic, with 10 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment

• At least 3 years at Production management level in a similar operation.

• Experience in mechanical build of engineering products and Welding technology.

• Knowledge of working in a technical environment within an engineering/manufacturing company.

• Appreciation of precision mechanisms with the ability to read mechanical drawings.

• Familiar with full range of engineering materials, finishes and tolerances.

• Experience of working within a fast-moving environment
