Production Director (Rice Manufacturing)

Reports To: Deputy CEO

Job Purpose

The Production Director is responsible for leading and overseeing all rice production operations across multiple manufacturing facilities. This role ensures the achievement of production, quality, safety, cost, and delivery objectives while driving operational excellence, continuous improvement, and sustainable growth across the company's rice manufacturing network.

Key Responsibilities

1. Production Leadership

- Lead and oversee all rice production operations across multiple manufacturing sites.

- Develop and execute production strategies aligned with business objectives and growth plans.

- Ensure achievement of production volume, productivity, quality, cost, and delivery targets.

- Establish standardized production management systems and operating procedures across all facilities.

- Drive operational excellence and manufacturing performance throughout the organization.

2. Production Planning & Efficiency

- Oversee production planning, capacity utilization, and workforce allocation.

- Monitor and improve key production metrics including OEE, Yield, Throughput, Productivity, OTIF, and Cost per Ton.

- Lead Lean Manufacturing, TPM, Kaizen, and Continuous Improvement initiatives.

- Optimize labor efficiency, raw material utilization, and production costs.

- Identify opportunities to improve production capability and operational effectiveness.

3. Quality & Food Safety

- Ensure all production activities comply with food safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.

- Collaborate closely with QA/QC teams to maintain high product quality standards.

- Support compliance with HACCP, ISO 22000, FSSC 22000, and other applicable standards.

- Ensure products consistently meet customer and market requirements.

4. Maintenance & Operational Reliability

- Partner with Engineering and Maintenance teams to ensure equipment reliability and production continuity.

- Support investment initiatives related to production technology, automation, and process improvement.

- Contribute to CAPEX planning and execution for production enhancement projects.

5. Safety, Health & Environment

- Promote a strong safety culture across all manufacturing sites.

- Ensure compliance with occupational health, safety, environmental, and fire protection regulations.

- Drive initiatives to minimize workplace incidents and operational risks.

6. Leadership & Talent Development

- Lead, coach, and develop Plant Managers and production leadership teams.

- Build organizational capability and succession plans for key production positions.

- Establish KPIs and performance management systems across production functions.

- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

7. Financial Management

- Manage production budgets and operational expenses.

- Drive productivity and cost optimization initiatives.

- Monitor manufacturing performance and identify opportunities to improve profitability.

- Support strategic decision-making through operational and financial analysis.

Qualifications

1. Education

- Bachelor's Degree or above in Food Technology, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Management, or related fields.

2. Experience

- Minimum 10 years of experience in manufacturing operations.

- At least 5 years in a senior leadership role such as Production Director, Manufacturing Director, Operations Director, Plant Director, or equivalent.

- Proven experience managing multiple manufacturing facilities and large-scale production operations.

- Mandatory experience in rice milling, rice processing, or rice manufacturing industry.

- Demonstrated track record in managing rice production efficiency, yield optimization, grain quality, cost control, and food safety compliance.

- Strong understanding of paddy procurement, rice milling operations, drying, storage, packaging, and by-product management is highly preferred.

3. Competencies:

- Strong strategic and operational leadership capabilities.

- Deep expertise in production management and manufacturing operations.

- Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, TPM, OEE, and Continuous Improvement methodologies.

- Financial acumen and cost management skills.
