Mô tả công việc

Job Title: Vietnamese Primary Homeroom Teacher

(Teaching the Vietnamese MOET curriculum integrated with the Cambridge International Program in a bilingual environment)

School: EMASI Nam Long School

EMASI schools offer an enhanced, dual language curriculum which integrates the requirements of the Ministry of Education & Training (MOET) with the Cambridge International Curriculum Framework.

Report to: Primary Homeroom Teachers report to the Head of Primary to which they are assigned.

Job Overview:

  • Primary Homeroom Teacher is responsible for teaching the MOET curriculum integrated with the Cambridge International Curriculum Framework in a bilingual setting.
  • The teacher also serves as a homeroom teacher, playing a central role in supporting students’ academic and personal development, and collaborating closely with parents and relevant departments to ensure holistic growth for each student.

Responsibilities and Duties:

1. Teaching and Academics

  • Plan and deliver lessons according to the MOET and integrated curriculum used at EMASI schools.
  • Design lessons, exercises, and learning activities that promote critical thinking, creativity, and teamwork.
  • Implement differentiation, scaffolding, and varied teaching strategies to meet diverse learning needs.
  • Prepare assessments, provide timely feedback, and use data to improve student learning outcomes.
  • Maintain accurate records of lesson plans, assessments, and student progress.
  • Record and update students’ academic progress, write reports, and complete report cards on schedule.
  • Collaborate with subject teachers in interdisciplinary teaching and activities.
  • Utilize school facilities and resources to extend learning beyond the classroom.

2. Classroom Management and Homeroom Responsibilities

  • Create a positive, safe, and supportive classroom environment that fosters academic, behavioral, and emotional development.
  • Monitor each student’s progress in learning, health, emotional wellbeing, behavior, and social skills.
  • Communicate regularly with parents through various platforms (parent meetings, email, ClassDojo, etc.) to share students’ progress and address concerns.
  • Organize and participate in parent meetings, take minutes, and provide individual development recommendations.
  • Support students facing learning or behavioral difficulties and coordinate with SEN and Pastoral (Learning Support) Coordinator or the school counselor as needed.
  • Support school behavior policies and pastoral care systems.
  • Supervise student arrival, dismissal routines, and other daily procedures.
  • Proactively collaborate with teachers, leadership, nurse, and admin staff to manage class-related issues effectively.

3. Educational and Experiential Activities

  • Participate in organizing and coordinating learning events, assemblies, extracurricular activities, field trips, and life skills education programs.
  • Guide students in participating in competitions and theme-based activities both in and outside the classroom.
  • Perform supervision duties such as break duties and activity supervision.
  • Support school-wide initiatives including Sports Day, cultural celebrations, and performances.

4. Professional Development

  • Actively participate in all internal and external meetings, training sessions, and workshops related to curriculum, social-emotional learning, school safety, etc.
  • Engage in performance management and professional growth programs.
  • Stay updated with modern educational practices, technology integration, and international teaching standards.
  • Collaborate positively with colleagues to strengthen school culture.
  • Undertake additional tasks assigned by school leadership when necessary.

Any other tasks assigned by Head of Primary or designated member of the leadership team after due consultation.

Yêu cầu ứng viên

  • Bachelor's degree in Primary/ Primary Education or a relevant field with a pedagogy certificate if not a graduate of a teacher training program.
  • English proficiency equivalent to TOEIC 570 or IELTS 6.0.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and student management/reporting software.
  • Preferred candidates have experience teaching in international or bilingual schools or have completed internships in integrated learning environments. (3+ years)
  • Familiarity with the Cambridge International Curriculum and integrated programs is an advantage.
  • Effective time and task management.
  • Strong classroom management and understanding of child development psychology.
  • Excellent communication with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Strong teamwork and problem-solving abilities.
  • Competent in using IT to support teaching and classroom management.
  • The candidate is expected to demonstrate professional ethics, solid subject knowledge, and a positive working attitude.
  • They should be ready to collaborate and engage closely with students, parents, and the school community in a bilingual educational environment.
